Concordia University boasts an active theater program that dates back to its move to the River Forest location in 1913. Artists of Concordia Theatre (or A. C. T.) typically produces four shows a year; generally two plays in the fall, a musical and a children's theatre production in the spring. Recent productions have included: Ragtime, Lend Me a Tenor, Veronica's Room, Jack and the Beanstalk, Into the Woods, Pippin, Proof and the Mystery of Edwin Drood. The campus provides two spaces for production, a proscenium space called ""Werner Auditorium"" and a more flexible space called ""Bergmann Theatre"". Bergmann especially has hosted creatively produced productions, including a spectacular staging of Agnes of God in the round. The actors and technical crews are all students at Concordia, from all different categories of majors. This makes for a convenient, delightful evening of some of the best college theater in the Chicago area.
