I went to Concetta's tonight with my husband and a couple friends. I had never been there before, although I had heard it was some pretty decent Italian in the St. Charles area. I had the Beef Arcobasso, which was delicious. It's two (or three) beef medallions in a wine and butter sauce with provel cheese, served with a lemon wedge to squeeze over. There was a lot of sauce, which I liked, and the white wine sauce really complemented the beef, despite the whole "red with red, white with white" rule for red and white meat. I didn't even mind the provel, which seems way too prevalent in the St. Louis area (sorry St. Louis, it's nasty, velveeta wannabe without the color or flavor). I did think it was a little pricey, since it was 6 oz of meat for $20. My husband's cannelloni was a really small serving size too - two tiny tubes of pasta. I thought this was not exactly a dinner serving, even if it did taste good. But overall, I'd say hit Concetta's for lunch, as the flavor was delicious. Maybe then you'll get right portion size for your money.
