I have been a VERY satisfied customer of Computer FX for over 6 years. They have kept my old hardware in tip-top shape no matter how hard I try to kill it. Just when I think it is finally gone for good they resurrect it one more time. Their work has always been top quality and performed on time, or prior to the original estimated time. Their recommendations for software, or hardware, have always improved my machines performance. And the best part for a retiree like myself, their prices are great. I will not hesitate to recommend them in the future, and have done so many times in the past. Troy and Steve are very competent technicians and have always been very professional in their dealings with me and my friends. more

I have been a customer of Computer FX in Orange Park for almost 3 years. First, they fixed my old computer by wiping it clean and getting rid of all the garbage on it. Then, they built a new computer to replace my husband's 9 year old computer, after Windows 7 came out. I help others with their new computers, so I had them build a computer for me with Windows 7 and the features that are on the newer computers with focus on desktop publishing, photos, burning CDs and DVDs, etc.\r \r Troy & Steve have always been extremely responsive and timely. Their turnaround time is always less than they estimate and they have NEVER been rude (Ellen, rude is as rude does, to paraphrase Forrest Gump). \r \r I would not hesitate to recommend this company (and I have several times). It was recommended to me by a colleague at work, and since I was completely dissatisfied with my former ""computer guy"", I was looking for a new place to take my business. I am very glad I did. more

Hello Ellenhere, I'm so sorry to hear that you were completely unsatisfied with our services here at Computer FX. First off my name is Troy, I am the owner of this establishment and again I want to personally apologize for not providing you the service you expected. There is always two sides to every story and I wanted to allow all the readers a chance to hear my version of the story. You brought in a computer that had issues and asked for it to be repaired, you were given an estimate prior to us even performing the repairs. You were also told that the repairs would take 3-5 business days. Everything was brought to your attention and you agreed to those terms and nothing was hidden from you. As for the video editing machine I told you upfront that I have never worked with any of the software that you have but the hardware inside were basic computer components and nothing abnormal. After replacing the hard drives doing a complete image of your old hard drives you complained that the video was choppy, so in turn instead of inconveniencing you, I came out to your house to try to remedy the issue (free of charge). During my house visit you and I came to the agreement that you wanted your computer put back to the way it was prior to bringing it in and to refund your money. That is what we did, I put your computer back to the way it was prior to coming to us, also making sure the computer was operational and functional. As for us not helping you any further, I personally do not like someone calling me and yelling at me over the phone when I'm trying to help them. Finally about the double swipe on your credit card I do apologize for that, but that was completely out of my control, Bank of America did release your funds back to you. In closing I'd like to thank all of the customers that has stuck with us through out the years, and my staff and I will always strive to offer you the best pricing and most importantly the best service. Also I'd like to thank the customer that did bring this negative review to my attention. You still had faith in us to use our services even though you read this negative review. If you are looking for good computer repair, keep looking! These folks may RUIN your computer like they did mine! Computer FX said they could easily fix my computer and only later after I was down over 1 week, out $466 and left with a completely broken system did the owner admit he knew nothing about computers for video editing - just gaming. He said ""a computer is a computer"". WOW. Several years ago I had a custom computer built at a computer store in Texas for professional video editing not computer gaming. Last week I had a small issue with the BIOS setting so I called a friend who recommended Computer FX in Orange Park FL, next to Staples on Blanding Blvd. Worst mistake I could have made was taking my computer to them. Their newly added hard drives were completely corrupted meaning all my data is probably now corrupted after moving it to them (but I can't tell as my computer won't even boot up from Error messages all over); the sound card doesn't work anymore, the CPU fan now doesn't work, and my new Nvidia video card is possibly ruined now as well. Obviously they didn't even check it out before it left their store. The owner says I should be thankful he went out of his way to even come by my house later to see if he could figure out if he broke my new very expensive video card or not since I had distortion and lines all over my screens, and that now he has ""washed his hands"" of my computer because he returned my money (less the $40 evaluation charge hahaha) - so I guess I should be happy with this heap of parts that used to be a GREAT computer prior to them ""working it over."" Save yourself and stay as far away from them as possible!! We are considering filing a claim in court over this as this was professional computer used to generate income. They also double swiped my card tying up almost $900 for 3 days and are completely rude. more
