These guys are defying the stereotypes for auto mechanics. They are honest (often telling me when something cheaper will fix my problem, or even that I don't have a problem at all), reliable (time quotes tend to be pretty accurate, and they've never messed something up), reasonably priced, great service (they go above and beyond--offering rides, answering phones with a pleasant tone, being efficient and friendly), and to top it off they have a bright, clean, comfortable waiting room with lots of conveniences often including free coffee and cookies. These guys are the honest mechanics you've been looking for. Pros: Honest, reliable, reasonable prices, great service... etc.! Cons: None. more

Good People 10/28/2009

I had major repairs done at Compton's recently, transmission and turbo repair. They gave me multiple options all along the way and the price quotes were accurate. Auto repair can be a painful thing, it is nice to deal with people who really care. Fresh Cookies in the lobby are fantastic. Pros: I trust Todd and Compton Automotive more

I Love This Place 9/16/2009

I moved to Charlotte 4 years ago and been trying to find an independent auto repair shop to take my car with no luck. I've been taking it to the Toyota dealership with an average cost of over $500 each visit and questionable service. I finally found Compton's about 9 months ago and cannot tell you how happy I am. Along with excellent service they are located close to the airport and will take you to work or the airport when you drop off your car. So convenience is another attribute. It took me a long time to find them and I want them to stay....try them out...you will not be disappointed. Please note they are no longer on Sirus Land but Byrum Road. Pros: Affordable, Honest, Excellent Service Cons: Fresh Baked Cookies on Monday more

Savior, my Lord! It happened on the worst situation. I had a car broke-down in the airport, on the worst day that could ever happen. I found this wonderfful repair shop online and decided to give it a try. It tunred out they were only two workers on site after the terrible snow storm. They were friendly and extremely helpful and tried their best to save my money. We were treated as a guest, coffee and muffin were served. This place is much more than clean. I felt less unfortunate when I left the shop. This is the BEST repair shop ever!! more

Todd Compton not only provides amazing customer service, top notch repair jobs, and completely reasonable prices, but it is the only repair shop in Charlotte that is ASE certified and listed as a Blue Seal Shop. That makes a big difference which I found out the hard way. After some miserable experiences with other repair shops, I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. He is honest, up front, always take the time to explain the problem in terms that you can understand, and never suggests repairs that are not necessary. They'll even have someone drive you to work if you don't have a ride. Their shop is by the airport and and a little hard to find, but well worth the trip!
