Are you a geek? And by this I mean a real geek. Having read Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings is just not enough for your geek card these days. Do you play RPGs? Know what a LARP is? Right, then if you haven't been to the Compleat Strategist you are just not as utterly cool or thorough in geekdom as you could be. Whatever you've been looking for, trust me, it's here. more

dingy weird hole in the wall 10/26/2005

nothing says "i will play dungeons and dragons at any cost" like visiting this store - it's dirty, musty, poorly lit, and completely unfriendly to all but the most hardened gamers. certainly when i've been there, it seemed that i was the only girl that had ever set foot in the place. i would seek out almost any other venue (for instance, "forbidden planet" is right downtown) for my DnD needs. more

Has Everything! 8/19/2005

This is one of my favorite stores to visit when I go to New York City. It is jam packed, literally, with so many games. There are role-playing games (pencil and paper and more modern), strategy games, and battle simulation games. If you're local to the area, they have tournament room where you can play games with others. We always find something new and interesting to pick up when we shop there. more
