Low cost Spay and Neuter, you decide... . I took my male and female cats into have their procedures done at Companion Animal Clinic. I read their reviews and I thought this is the place for me. When we were going over the aftercare instructions, they told me my kittens had fleas. No WAY. They were checked for fleas when I got them and brought the home to live with me. I also have 2 adult cats and when I got the kittens home after the procedure I had the adults checked, NO FLEAS. My opinion is, they got the fleas at the clinic. No other explanation. So I had to spend an extra $30.00 for Advantage for my 2 girls at home. I don't want to get fleas in my home. Besides, if they came in with fleas they would charged me for the Advantage that they gave me for the kittens when they them home. I asked if my little girl could have antibiotics. I was willing to pay for it, i was told it was not normally offered. Okay..I understand it is not standard, however I did want it as a precautionary measure. She is only 6 mos old, a kitten hard to keep still even though she is caged while healing. They would not give it to me. She had collar on and could not eat or drink water very well, so I shorten the collar and as luck would have it...she got an infection. The nurse and Doctor said it was because she was able to rub the collar against the incision site. However I do not believe it could it could reach the incision, but okay, I am willing to accept the blame. I was told that she needed an antibiotic (of course), A shot of Amoxicillin 250ml for $49.50 and I was to take home Clavamox 15ml for $44.50 to give to her twice a day. I was shorted by 4ml. I volunteer for a friend that has a cattery and she was flabbergasted that I was charged such a huge amount of money for these antibiotics, especially the Clavamox. I then called around to other Vet clinics, they charge HALF what he charged me. So much for low cost! I believe, he knows where to make his money back! I called the clinic and spoke with Dr. Knox and he gave me a ch more
