I used to buy a lot from compusa. If you don't know, compusa is now under different ownership. Perhaps it's just this one store, but they seem to have replaced all the competent helpful people with a pack of folks that have had a lobotomy (or two). While they may be ok on new products NEVER, NEVER, EVER purchase anything off their clearance racks. I bought a open box power supply there believing that tiger direct's policy on open box would apply in this store; apparently that is not so and a night manager more or less told me that they don't have to follow corporate policy. The unit was dead on arrival, it was full of dust, quite obviously it was not tested before they put it back out on the shelf to sell; the boxes are sealed you can't open them to inspect before you buy it. The box and the contents didn't match the information on their sales receipt, i.e. box said x2 all over it, their lable and receipt said x4 on it. Manufacturer is now investigating fraud in their returns department. When I went back to ask for a store credit I was told to forget it that all stuff on the clearance rack is sold ""as is."" I asked the manager to show me the ""as is"" signs and lables there are none, they have an ""all sales final"" sign on the end caps where it will never be seen. All sales final and as is are not the same thing. The item didn't work, I didn't want my money back just an item that did work, and quite possibly I would have spent more to boot. I was basically told ""too bad so sad"" we have your money and now you can go screw yourself. This store has a number of complaints against them with consumer protection and you can see a number of bad reviews on google. I will never spend another dime in this store. Last open box I bought from newegg failed after three days and they cheerfully and painlessly gave me a credit towards something else. I will never buy anything in this particular store again, I might go to the Tampa store but never here again. It isn't the customer's responsibility to bring test equipment into the store so they aren't screwed over and federal USC indicates that there most likely should at least be a fitness warranty (what's labled is in the box, that it works and that it's fit for the stated use) a fitness warranty cannot be escaped with an ""all sales final."" lable. The night manager told me it isn't their problem that it doesn't work because they don't test the stuff there.....what stupid logic..you're the one with the po'd customer. I've made about six calls to tiger and no one calls me back; which I'm also not too happy about. I got one email from a division manager in Daytona but not one more communication. I'm not done here, they've aggravated the wrong person, I have to wonder how many other people have been robbed in this way.
