Mission
Community Prevention and Addiction Services is an organization established for and by the citizens of eastern Connecticut to deal with alcohol and other addictions. The organization shall be non-profit, voluntary and composed of area citizens representing all segments of the local population.
The organization shall interface with agencies, business and organizations, both in the public and private sectors, who have an interest in services for those interested in the prevention, education, intervention, treatment, and rehabilitation of alcohol abuse and other addictions.
Community Prevention and Addiction Services shall assure that the following objectives are met:
*Development of prevention, education, intervention, treatment, and rehabilitation for alcohol abuse and other addictions
*Identification of needs and the development and maintenance of quality programs in the field of alcohol abuse and other addictions
*Collaboration and development of contracts with appropriate resources in order to implement plans and programs
Agency Philosophy
C.P.A.S. serves clients and their families with respect and dignity valuing their unique perspective on the services provided. The agency believes in the disease concept of alcoholism and other addictions, with a firm conviction that all people can recover. C.P.A.S. is committed to the tenets of the twelve-step program while offering eclectic treatment and educational modalities to meet the individualized needs of the persons served.
Guiding Principles
C.P.A.S. views each client as a unique individual deserving of high quality substance abuse treatment using qualified staff who have the skills and knowledge to perform such services well.
C.P.A.S. follows the regulations and standards of the State of Connecticut and any other funding sources and relevant licensing and accrediting bodies.
C.P.A.S. follows the Federal Confidentially Regulations to protect client rights and privacy.
