On the way to Chicago, I visited this restaurant based on the recommendation of my friend who previously worked in Chelsea, MI. We skipped the appetizers and went straight to soup...

All reviews seem positive

No more pay phone : ( 8/11/2007

The food is very good and you can eat there without spending a ton of money if you want (if you're starving eat more bread) but I'm bummed that they took the pay phone out of the women's lavatory. It was fun to make calls from in there. more

Very much worth the wait and the money 10/6/2005

Eating at the Common Grill make me question why I ever go out to eat anywhere else. The food is outstanding, location great (if you have to wait, you can always go to the bar or wander around the block). Yes, it is expensive- a dinner with appetizer and drinks will run at least $120. But if that causes you to pause, I recommend not going out for an entire month and splurging on this. It is THAT worth it. more

Open, Warm atmosphere Friendly service GREAT unique fresh BREAD and the entrées ...oHHHH... many wonderful choices... THE BEST THING to me has always been that the children's meals are balanced real food. (not chicken nuggets, PB&J, mac and cheese) My son always orders the broiled whitefish kids meal and it comes with salad and a veggie (often fresh green beans) and milk and a cookie.... FINE DINING !!! This Restaurant is one of the BEST I have had the pleasure to patronize !!!! more

Common Grill 9/28/2005

This is wonderful restaurant with a HUGE selection of fish and wine. Very good menu not only including fish, but other yummy entree's as well. The staff is professional and friendly. Prices are a little high, but its a great place to go for a special occasion. THe only thing I don't really like is that it is an open room where everyone eats and its quite loud. more

Great variety by a wonderful chef... 8/20/2005

This is one of the finest dining experience I've ever had the pleasure to enjoy. The recipes are creations by world renowned chef and entrepeneur Eric Common. If you are ever in the Chelsea or plan to be there, you've got to visit the Common Grill. Most nights there is no reservation required. They have a separate for special occasions. They prices are a little more expensive than other restaurants in the area, but are well worth it. more
