I am currently employed at Comfort Keepers. I have been working here since novemeber. Let me start by saying that they do NOT do any back ground checks or any DRUG testing and will take anyone that walks in the door. I have many complaints about the ""caregivers"" such as people coming in smelling of marijuana, people not doing anything but sitting and watching tv, taking smoke breaks and eating clients food. They neglect the clients when they can get away with it. When I started at comfort Keepers after a brief interview they gave me a piece of paper with directions and ""tips"" on how to care for my client, I went out and worked. They changed my clients almost daily so I was in and out of peoples homes I had never met, about a month ago I finally got some what of a steady schedule, and could spend time getting to know what my clients wanted and needed from me. After spending a couple weeks with a 91 year old woman I noticed that she was not getting a bath, or any kind of hygiene assitance and was wearing dirty briefs which were completely soiled with feces and urine! The house was also cluttered and just plain nasty. I told the office staff as soon as I noticed and they assured me someone would come out to help, and get her bathed, After weeks of no one coming I called the office agian, and said I know she has to have some kind of infection, and sores from wearing the same soiled brief and not bathing, and the scheduling lady told me once again someone would come out. NO ONE EVER CAME, Today she is still wearing the same dirty brief she had on 2 weeks ago. I also have had issues with people not showing up on time which is a regular thing there, if they ever do come in, meds not being given at all. Caregivers leaving hours early but still charging the clients, and caregiviers STEALING narcotics and whatever they want! There are so many innocent people becomes victims because of Comfort Keepers, I have told the main office about ALL of these Issues many times and they just do not care, they care about the $$$ and bodies to fill the shifts. I can not be apart of this anymore I have tried my best to get the problems corrected and they will do nothing so I put in my hand written two week notice and dont you know Cathy the scheduler took me off the schedule. Which is fine, I would rather not work for such a horrible place, I would have just quit but I could not and would not ever just leave a client sitting there alone with no help like so many of their ""care givers"" do. Everything I have written is TRUE and was not written out of spite, I am truely concerned for the current clients and future clients of Comfort Keepers.
