Combs was voted best tackle shop on long island i beleive two years ago, and now I know why. I have been addicted to fishing ever since i was young. I have been to many different shops along the island, and Combs is by far the best I have been to. Bill, the owner told me that he grew up in Massapequa and knows the water like the back of his hand. After talking to him for two minutes, I knew that was completely true. The first time i went in he spent a good amount of time with me advising me on different things. even merchandise that was more expensive, he talked me out of becasue for what i wanted to catch, it wouldnt of worked. He advised me to use different merchandise even though he wouldnt make as a big of a sale. that is Bill and Combs in a nut shell. Bill is full of knowledge and more then willing to share. I live almost 45 min away, but I will never step foot in another tackle shop as long as Combs and Bill are there.
