I've had degenerative joint disease all my life and Dr. Metzger is the best! He took time to talk to me and my husband about my condition with care and concern. We agreed on a course of action and I felt very upbeat and comfortable after our visit. He was extremely thorough, taking numerous xrays and examining the xrays with us. It was so refreshing to meet a surgeon who demonstrates a wonderful ""bedside manner""! I am grateful for the opportunity to see him and so happy I decided to jump my former surgeon's ship! If you feel neglected, that your surgeon doesn't really care about you and that you're ""just another case"" this is the physician to see! Keep doing what you're doing Mark! Pros: Woth waiting to see! Exceptional quality of care Cons: Long wait in the waiting room but I understand because he doesn't rush you to get out more

I am 39 years old, and Dr. Metzger replaced both of my hips!! I have dealt with orthopaedic surgeons my entire life and Dr. Metzger is by far the best!!!! He is a brilliant surgeon, and even though I currently live in Louisiana, I will fly to Oregon to see this physician. He's a great doctor. Very informative and uptodate. I had to have a hip replaced and he took care of it all with no problems. I feel very blessed to have been recommended to him. Pros: Office is easy to get to, and park in. Cons: The office staff was helpful but not really tuned into the customer's needs. I had some trouble calling and connecting to the office staff, but it was worth the hassel to be serviced by Dr Metzger more

I had heard good things about this doctor and after we met I realized that the comments were true. He took the time to explain things and didn't make me feel like I was rushed. His credentials are top notch and his bedside manner soothing. Well worth the trip, especially since he told me I didn't need surgery! Pros: friendly staff, knowledgable, attentive Cons: waiting time more
