Color Arts Salon & Spa

Hello! I used to be a very satisfied and happy customer of color arts until a couple of weeks ago. I used to like going to Jade because she gave me a great cut and color. However, during my last visit, while waiting for my color to settle, I was talking on my phone and some of the dye spilled onto my fingers. I just had a gel manicure done and my nails ended up with the color stain on them. To make matters worse, it would not come off and I had a party to go to the next day. Now granted, I should have been more careful. However, Jade was so rude to me. She said ""why were you talking on your phone and when some of the dye got on my phone and I asked for something to wipe it with.she was annoyed with that too. She did nothing to fix the situation. It was an accident. She acted like I did it on purpose and now I had to be punished .The least she could have done was offer me a gel manicure and deduct the bill. She saw I was unhappy and her attitude was I just had to deal with it. To top it off , she made my hair look like a rat's nest when she blew it out. I left the salon very disappointed because prior to this incident, I was happy with her work and the way I was treated in the salon. However, I will not be giving her any more of my business. I felt very disrespected by her and will never return. more

Color arts salon&spa is the best..I like Lina do my facial.i so pity a part for the extraction..But Lina do a really good job.she so gentle for extraction without any painful and leave a scar.and I like enjoyed face massage form her..after facial I feel my face look fresh and bright..thanks lina for the wonderful facial. more

Color Arts Salon & Spa is the best! After moving away from Manhattan, I needed a local hairstylist in Brooklyn who I could trust. I find that most hairstylists do not pay attention to the texture of my hair when they thin it and this has lead to some trying moments. I found Color Arts Salon & Spa here on Citysearch and after reading the glowing reviews, I decided to try it out. \r \r The atmosphere here, as others have said, is very relaxing. The place is very well-kept. After a wonderful hairwash from Diana, Jade sat me down and gave me her advice on what to do with my hair (Previous hairstylists had thinned it out excessively, leaving most of my hair flat and lifeless). Sensing my uneasiness as a first-time customer, Jade chatted with me as she fixed up my hair. I learned from her that she kept herself up to date on current styles both local and global. The price was very reasonable considering the service and expertise that Jade provided.\r \r I left the salon feeling and looking great. I love Color Arts Salon & Spa. Jade was amazing! She managed to turn my jet black hair to a wonderful warm caramel color and gave me an awesome cut and blow out. The staff is great, the atmosphere is welcoming and the music is soothing. By far the best place in Brooklyn! :) more

I live in an area where there's another nail salon on every corner. Color Arts manages to shine through all the competitors -- there is no competition, they truly are the best in the neighborhood! Joyce and Liz give the absolutely best manicures I've ever had, hands down (pun intended!). It doesn't stop there! I've gone to many different nail/eyebrow salons and time after time I was left to grow out my brows in hopes the next girl didn't mess them up. Joyce fixed my eyebrows and now they're perfect! she's simply a professional. Joyce is very well educated in her field and always does the best by you. Her very well trained partner, Liz is just as great! I love going to Color Arts when its time for some relaxation and pampering. Waxing, nails, facials? Liz and Joyce are the ones to go to! Again, I have nothing negative to , I'm a loyal customer and would never go anywhere else. more

I have been coming here ritually for about a year now and this place is definetly a Gem! Cut to the coloring to the brows! Just amazing! I went in with jet black hair with hopes of eventually becoming a brunette again with out damaging .. well jade took the proper precautions in making that happen! not like these other salons that willingly pour bleach on your head not giving a crap about your life of your hair! I walked out feeling like a million bucks also her cuts are amazing ! just when I lost hope and thought my brows will never look good again ! Joyce stepped in and shocked me! what an amazing brow shaper! she takes her time and you walk out feeling like wow i cant believe there was hope ! Bottomline this is a great place ! everyone there does a great job! I spend alot of time there! will never go anywhere else and i have recruited my sisters who fell in love with their work as well! who are also returning customers! more

I waited one month for an appointment with Jade based on her high recommendation.Walked in with medium brown hair and asked for honey highlights My hair is thick and curly. She colored my base followed by highlights. After spending over three hours in this salon I walked out with thick orange stripes placed over my head. I left with my hair partially wet and as it dried I was slowly mortified at what I saw after spending roughly $200 I looked like a clown, actually I looked likeTigger. When I returned the next day she was not able to admit that she made a mistake and said she gave me exactly what I wanted. She returned to a medium brown and needless to say I could have gotted the same results with a box of dye from CVS. more

I cannot speak for their other services, but I've had my hair cut here twice and been impressed with the results both times. Because I have thin, fine hair, I am always worried that a hairdresser will style it in such a way that it looks even thinner, I was really impressed with the cut Jeremy gave me. He gives great cuts and blow-outs, better than I've had in three years, I highly recommend him. more

After having a baby a year ago my hair never took to dye the way that it used to. I would color my hair and two weeks later the grey would come right back. I had to dye it so many times in such a short period and it became very damaged. I went to color arts to see what they could do. Jade was wonderful. She mixed a special dye for my hair and I was extremely pleased with the results. It has been five weeks and I am JUST going back to do my roots. I would recomment this salon to anyone! more

Wow, im very impressed with the staff at the Color arts salon. Was my first time and they offered a 25% discount here on city search so i used that. My color is very hard to do as well as my hair, grows weird. Jade had everything under control. Very professional, highly trained eyes. Precision cut, color was excellent too. \r Also, Jade educates you about your hair, which ways to wear it and also how to care for it. \r It did take over 5 hours from start to end but id rather be with someone who cares enough to do the job right no matter how long it takes. \r I highly reccomend Color Arts in Bensonhurst. I have to admit that for me going to salon is scarier than going to the dentist. I tried so many places and every time I was leaving disappointed and upset about my haircut. And then a friend recommended Jade at Color Arts. So I decided to try. \r Oh My God! She gave me the most amazing cut, my hair looks gorgeous, she made me look younger and more sofisticated. She asked me to show her what I have in mind and then customized it to fit my face and my hair. Overall it was just trully great experience. Such a friendly and nice environment. \r Jade was talking to me the whole time, explaining what she is doing and why and that really put me at ease.\r And after she cut my hair she showed me all different ways I can wear it and actually taught me to style it myself.\r I've never had such wonderful stylist, thank you Jade! I'm glad I came to Color Arts Salon because Jade did an amazing job and her pricing is fair. You get real Manhattan treatment in Bensonhurst. This was my first facial experience with Joyce and she's absolutely the best facialist. She's so gentle and sweet. I didn't feel any pain at all when she did the extraction. The Color Arts Salon offers great beauty packages and treatments. I look forward to try all the others facial packages because the price is reasonable and affordable. more

My girl friend has been asking me to go to her colorist for the past two years. This past week i joined her to see what the place was like.It was super relaxing and friendly and her colorist Jade was more than i expected, so talented. BUT while waiting i saw they did natural nails,NO toxic odors.I hate to go to those smelly nail places, i get a headache within two minutes. So i had Angela do my nails and she did a beauitful job.I am so pleased and i highly recommend anyone who is health consious and like quality work. i will be back to visit this great hidden GEM in Bensonhurst. more

\r Before finding Color Arts &Spa I kind of just accepted the fact that nobody would really be able to do much with my fairly frizzy hair. The EXTREMLY TALENTED founder of this great salon has consistently done amazing cuts and color for me, and I really love my hair now! Not to mention, the salon space is always cheery and inviting and the prices are very reasonable. I have been going to ColorArtsSalon for two years now for my acne facial treatment. Joyce, the facialists analyzed my skin and recommended the appropriate treatment to treat my acne problem. I saw results like never before after only one session. She's the only person that I would go for my waxing and eyebrow also.The atmosphere is very relaxing and she's very gentle with me. I always have uneven skin tone and dark circle under my eyes,with Joyce's (beautician) r econmendation,I signed up a series of 5 cell renewal treatments and ultra sonic eye treatments, with that I got 20% off the total cost.After the the 3 rd treatments , I began to see significant result----my skin is bright and even and my dark circles has lighten.I love this place, the staffs are very friendly especially Joyce,she is so wonderful and very professional!
