Irresponsible Company: I am in my 3rd month of trying to get my deposit returned. They first claimed the check was in the mail, then said the check name was changed ?? , then they said they don't know what happened to the money but refuse to make the payment to me. Colony has refused to provided me any documentation as proof and my calls go unanswered. Today I needed to retain an attorney just to get answers and to get my deposit returned. I have bought several properties and in doing so have worked with many escrow companies without any issues. I can not believe the problems and irresponsible actions that I am experiencing with Colony Escrows inability to complete a transaction and simply return my deposit. Don't trust this company with any dollars (if expect to get the dollars returned). Where is my $7000 ! ! more

Best Escrow Company, By FAR! 1/22/2010

You can?t believe how sorry I am to hear that the previous individual had a bad experience with Colony Escrow. As a Real Estate Broker for 32 years, I?ve worked with many escrow companies and as much as possible with Colony Escrow for the last 15 years. Over the years, I?ve probably had Colony Escrow do 150 escrows. I have found the company?s manager, Barbara Amons, to be the most competent escrow officer and office manager I have ever met. Not only is she extremely focused and consistent, but also giving of her time to advise on Real Estate deals she?s not even involved in. All I can say to Andrew Ng is to try Colony Escrow again. I don?t think he?ll be disappointed. After all these years in the Real Estate business, you come to realize there are things you can control and things you can?t. I couldn?t be happier to say that I have Colony Escrow on my side to maneuver through. Pros: Friendly, intellegent, knowledgeable, efficient Cons: NOTHING more
