College Park Cafe

My first time ordering from College Park Cafe was a great experience. It was a Sunday afternoon, and I called in the order to go. The food was ready and waiting at the counter when I arrived ten minutes later. Not only was the checkout quick and convenient, but the food was amazing. I am a College Park resident. I work nights at a well known French restaurant. I enjoy going here almost every week for lunch. Sometimes I have breakfast, and yes the other reviewrs are right the omlettes are really good. I am a soup guy and I really can't tell you how good they are. If vegetable or beef vegatable is on the specials board, then order it! It is always different with what might be in it veggie wise, but it is always so good. The BLT is one of my favorite's, they have the best wheat bread. Get it toasted for sure. Service is good, but not overly friendly. They are nice, but just don't go any further than being an order taker. Although they do remember what you like. more

A cheeseburger, a BLT, and a Pastreami sandwich... My daughters and I waited 45 minutes. I had hoped to turn this lunch into something positive, sopporting the local local restaurateur but it turned into a very dissappointed lunch. We seated ourselves, no problem. Only one menu was on the table we chose, we were never offered additional menus. The cheeseburger tasted like an Italian meatball, the BLT was fine, and my pastrami sandwich was possible the worst I have ever eaten. All this for $19.00. Pass on College Park Cafe. Think diner. If you'd like to take your honey some place where breakfast is an event and where you can show her just how important you are - go some place else. If you want to get your grind on and eat some good food - take her to College Park Cafe. The food is awesome! I had the sausage and jack cheese omlette and it was probably the greatest omlette I've ever had. The biscuitts are just as good. Throw some butter and jelly on there and you're all set. I've been there a few times and the assortment of locals is pretty funny. It's usually a good mix of the new and old College Park. The old College Park people are much more entertaining. We have tried all sorts of breakfast places in the past. Two of my favorites have been First Watch and La Peep, but that is now changing with recent visits to College Park Café! What this places offers over the other two establishments is the home cook feeling. Yes the meals may not be as unique prepared, the decor is a little bit old and dated, but taste rules supreme here. The omelets are the best and make sure you get biscuits instead of toast; they are like little clouds of heaven. Service was goods and friendly and the regular patrons give it that neighborhood feel. We have only been for breakfast, but hope to make it there soon for lunch! If you are missing the feeling of home, stroll into the College Park Cafe; it will be like your home again.
