I was in the GED program at 4/24/2012

I was in the GED program at CollegeAmerica for a few months. I really liked Emily as an instructor. She inspired me to be great and she believed in me which was a new thing. I had the chance to have classes with all of the instructors in the GED program, and I liked them all. I just want to say thank you. I would refer anyone to this college. Thanks for believing in me and giving me another chance! Michelle Howard more

I completed CollegeAmerica's GED 4/24/2012

I completed CollegeAmerica's GED program in 1.5 weeks! The instructors were knowledgeable, especially, Aaron. They offer a wide range of classes as well as many free programs to help get you started. They sat and talked with me about my career plans which was useful. I feel I am ready to take this test. Thank you, CollegeAmerica!! Aaron Rodriquez more

I attended the free GED program at this 4/24/2012

I attended the free GED program at this college. I would like to say that the teachers and the staff at CollegeAmerica are very caring people. They made me feel very comfortable every time I walk in the building. They were always patient with me and made sure that I understood the curriculum, especially math. I would recommend this school to anybody. Sincerely, Terry L. more

Please think this through 9/27/2011

This college was not for me. I did not realize until I got fully immersed in the school. I would suggest to any person thinking about going to this school to really do their homework. I did not, and I regret it very much. The reason I went to this school was to enroll in an accelerated program. I waited some years before going to college, and enrolled at another college in town. I saw some ads for College America and thought it would be awesome to graduate in two years rather than the four year plan i was currently on. Is the school accredited? Yes. You will get your degree. But now after graduating from a state college and looking back, I have found that employer's would not pick a graduate from this school over any other school. But you are paying over 60k for this program? So you would think this school would be more prestigious? Wrong, wrong, wrong!!! The campus I went to is in a ratty old movie theater. There is one printer for the entire student body to use. The library barely has any books. The course books are more like pamphlets. My anatomy book was about 75 pages, and you could not find this book on any college bookstore site, which means it is pretty much a child's book. That is how all the books were. For 60k, I thought I would have to work my butt off, that the classes would be harder. Nope. Barely had to do work. Show up and you will pass. Don't show up and you will probably pass as well. they were holding class in a shut down tattoo shop, complete with red and black tiles, and old paintings too inappropriate for class i guess so they covered them with cardboard. I was going to pay over $1200 for this class???? Yes, I was, because they will bill you more than you thought possible if you leave. You won't get out of their system. I had my recruiter trying to send me messages and friend me on facebook! Pretty obvious they must make some sort of commission they are so desperate. I felt so insulted in spending so much money and taking classes inside a hot old tattoo shop that hadn't been remodeled with anything more than second hand desks, that I left class early, and went to talk to the dean, ""T."" I asked the front desk for her, they called her in her office, and the lady told me that she was busy and to come back later. I was already fuming, so I just walked back there. Busy? She was sitting at her desk talking with the other office lady and eating. Clearly too busy to talk to a student about leaving this joke of a school. Like i said. Not for me. If it is for you, have fun graduating in a gross old movie theater stage, and be proud of your second hand education that most employers laugh at. more

RE: Hired 7/19/2011

I am a recent graduate. I just got hired today at a nursing home, and I couldn't be happier. Unlike some of the review writers below, I am able to spell, put paragraphs together and convey points clearly. Perhaps that is why I am happily and gainfully employed and don't have a terse word to say about CollegeAmerica.\r \r I chuckled when I read the review from ""go niners."" Surely the poster realized the irony, right? That review was clearly written by someone who was uneducated. \r \r The reviewer cannot punctuate, put together a paragraph or utilize proper spelling. I have listed and numbered the spelling and grammatical errors below. I ran out of time to list them all. ""Go niners"" truly put together an atrocious review that is likely to make a high school English teacher's skin crawl. \r \r It is such a shame when uneducated people write reviews. How can anyone take them seriously? What a joke!\r \r 1. First sentence: Word ""they"" is not capitalized\r 2. Second Sentence: word ""it"" is not capitalized\r 3. First sentence: comma is not required.\r 4. The correct spelling is standard, not ""standerd.""\r 5. The correct spelling is anywhere, not ""any where""\r 6. My favorite error is that the writer cannot spell succeeded or truthful. ""Turthful and ""succeded"" are incorrect. Actually, the correct word in the sentence written should be succeed.\r 7. That's contains an apostrophe. It was left out.\r 8. The correct spelling is ""believe"" not belive.\r 9. Please remember to write ""yourself."" It is one word, not two.\r 10. Here is another error that one should know from elementary school: ""if your a fool like i was"" should read ""if you're a fool like I was"" and yes the writer is foolish for writing and not knowing how to spell out their point correctly.\r 11. ""Thats"" should be written ""that's""\r 12. ""in there later years"" should read ""in their later years"" Yes, I agree that a person in their later years should be intelligent enough to spell, but perhaps needs further education in order to spell basic words.\r 13. The word decison is spelled ""decision."" Example sentence: Some ignorant people make the decision to express their views, but cannot spell, read or write. The decision to re-enroll in junior high school would be a good one for ""go niners"" since people are annoyed and have no regard for comments who come from ignorant, uneducated and invariably incompetent individuals.\r \r more

When community college didn't work out 3/5/2011

I dropped out of community college and came here. People call you back here and care that you graduate. At my other school, no one cared when my grandma died or when I lost my apartment. At this school, they care. more

When community college didn't work out 3/5/2011

This school has been wonderful. I made the mistake of enrolling at the local community college and it was a nightmare. Whenever I called I was treated like a number. I had a hard time and felt like giving up. The teachers and staff at this school really care that you graduate. My counselor was always available to talk or text, even on weekends. I couldn't even get anyone to call me back from community college. If you want a school that really cares that you make it, give this school a try. more

Just Got Accepted Into RN Program!!! 3/5/2011

I just got accepted into the nursing program that started on 2-28! I am so happy. We have a small, tight-knit group of students and the program is very hands-on. All of the equipment we work with is new and the facility is brand new too. I checked out several nursing schools and this one is the best! \r You have to work hard here, but the teachers care and want you to succeed!\r more

they are not truthful 3/4/2011

they lie , and jerk you around . it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life to join them . and after one class they tell me that i'm out of the program for . 6 months and i can retake the test then . and that my first test is invalid.. after they screwed up. and there standerd anwser is ""were sorry. and i don't know......"" more

College America 6/10/2010

I have been going to CollegeAmerica for almost 2 years now. They keep adding extra classes to my schedule and pushing back my graduation date. I am paying almost 3 times as much at this school as I could be at a 4 year college and its starting to look like it is going to take about 4 years to finish instead of the 2.5 years I started off with. Our facilities could be much better, our school is getting overcrowded and its too packed. They literally let anyone enroll, I go to school with current drug addicts, and some complete psychopaths. One girl actually threatened to kill another for absolutely no reason. The laptops they give us constantly crash and break and the administration is too busy with their own personal activities to care about the students. They treat us like trash and its not worth it at all. I would NEVER recommend that anyone ever go to this school because of the extreme amount of horrible experiences I have had here. Too bad I had to spend $60,000 to find this out. Cons: EVERYTHING more
