TOTAL NIGHTMARE!!! My husband works out of town and rushed into signing a lease at Colinas Del Sol so that he wouldn't have to stay in a hotel any longer. My husband was shown a model that was extremely well taken care of, remodeled and looked brand new. After signing the lease he was given an apartment that looked 15 years old, that carpet was matted down and stained, hair was painted into walls, the linoleum was dingy and dirty, molding had been sanded down and repainted on top of the debris from the sanding, the bathroom door didn't sit flush against the door jam when closed, basically a complete dump. The rude maintenance staff is a complete joke. My husband put in an order to have the front door and the dish washer fixed. It took them two months to attempt to fix the dish washer. They never fixed the front door so he had to do it himself. Three or four months before the lease was up, he was given a letter that said that if he didn't sign another year lease they would up the rent from $850 to $1250!! He moved out of the apartment a month early. We had the apartment professionally cleaned (the only thing we didn't do was have the carpets professionally cleaned since they hadn't been cleaned for him) and I personally walked through the apartment with an employee. The entire time all the employee could say was how good and how clean the apartment looked. He was shocked that we had left the apartment in such good condition. Two months after we vacated the apartment, we received a LETTER, not a bill from the apartment complex saying that we owed them $130 after the deposit for a carpet cleaning fee and an apartment cleaning fee. Five days later we received a bill from a collection agency for the $130. I was furious. I called the apartment complex to ask why we had been charged for anything. I explained to the girl that the carpets hadn't been cleaned for him when he moved in so why should we be held to a different standard than what they provide. Because he only wrote ""Carpets are marginal at best and need to be replaced"" and not ""Were not clean"". They wouldn't remove the charge. I told the girl fine but asked how they could charge a cleaning fee when the apartment was professionally cleaned and I personally walked through the apartment with them to only be told how clean the apartment was. She put me on hold to come back with the response of ""You're not even on the lease so I don't even know why we are talking to you and not him"". At this point I lost my temper and let her know that I write the checks and that's why she was talking to me. I followed it up by saying ""So let me get this straight, if a person moves into your apartment complex and the carpets aren't cleaned, not only do you expect them to clean the carpet when they vacate but if they don't you charge them a fee for carpet cleaning which you then turn around and pocket and still never have the carpets cleaned. And when the apartment is left spotless which was the term said by a member of your staff, you then turn around and charge another fee which you then pocket since you never had to have the apartment re-cleaned?"" She replied ""Well I'm not real sure how to answer that."" I asked her to put someone on the phone who could answer. I was put back on hold and left waiting for five minutes to be told that the manager was busy and that Cassandra would call me back. We never received a call. IF YOU HAVE TO LIVE IN THIS DUMP/HELL HOLE TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING AND DOCUMENT EVERYTHING, YOUR MOVE IN PAPER WORK, YOUR SERVICE CALLS, THE LENGTH OF TIME IT TOOK FOR YOU TO GET A SERVICE REPAIR MAN AND VIDEO TAPE YOUR WALK THROUGH AT THE END. Any good reviews you see on this place are more than likely false. This company is extremely shady and I'm not sure how the people that work there look at themselves in the mirror or keep their jobs for that matter. I would be ashamed is I was them.
