Where I am living there is no fiber and no DSL but a neighbor has Colfaxnet so I tried it. I could have tried satellite or Verizon Air Card but I like the local guys and Colfaxnets price to performance is better that either.
The message I left wasn't returned for a few days, then installation took a while. OK, OK, I deal with that. I wasn't crazy about the way they installed but the topper was the speed! I'm not a techy but my service was slooooowwwww, although reliable through weather which was concerning me. Speedtests were about showing 300 kilobytes most of the time and I think I was supposed to get 3000. The owner tried to make it work. He's a too-busy one man show, and support is impossible to get. You just have to wait for a return phone call and then its, well, I would rather talk to Verizon which is sad.
No changes helped. It seems its just cause of where I live but my neighbors is much faster.
Since I am watching a lot of youtube and wanting to do streaming I gave up.
Like I said, I am using the local gusy when possible and thats why I went to Exwire where, so far, things are going much better.
