Coleman's Studio

My daughter was not pleased with her senior pictures and she felt it during the photo sitting. She was not comfortable with the photographer. She felt rushed and he/she showed littel interest in his subject and the pose positions were awkward. All that was obvious in the proofs. And the prices are outrageous!! Then my sophomore daughter came home with her proofs and they are not good at all. This is our first experience with ""senior photos"" so I called Coleman Studio to ask questions and see if we had options and the owner, Brenda, was rude and unprofessional! Then I did a search and found that there are others that shared my views and/or experience with Coleman Studio. They don't deserve to have a contract with WCDE. They don't deserve to be in business. My son's senior pictures were awful. The poses were terrible. In several of the pictures, they chopped off fingers, elbows, and other parts to show more of the backgrounds. The pictures were not well staged at all. When I got the prints, there was a silver dot on all of one pose -- had to have them send off for more of those without the giant silver blob on my son's teeth. When I expressed how unhappy I was with the overall package, the ""kid"" who was at the front desk informed me that he was the photographer and that those were the standard poses. I had to take my son out and do photos of my own -- which turned out much better. They get one star because it will not let me post with zero. Cons: too expensive for the quality more

My sons senior pictures were awful. It was sprinkling rain outside the day of his pictures and they made him take some outside. He didn't like the poses, and when asked about them, was told that's just what they were! Then, when I asked about remakes, they said they would have to charge the huge, outrageous sitting fee, AGAIN. No thanks!!! The quality of the photo was poor, very blurry, not focused. I just would not recommend going there. I can take better pictures with my camera. more

I would not recommend Coleman Studios to anyone! Their picture quality is terrible. My daughter's senior pictures were awful-- the poses were terrible-- she even told the photographer she did not want to pose in particular ways but they made her do it anyway. Well, of course when the pictures came back they were so bad she immediately threw them in the trash. On retake day, we were told to pay up another $63! There is no way that's going to happen. They are rude and do not even attempt to compromise. Evidently they have a contract with Sullivan County Schools because I've heard from people at other schools where they've taken pictures and the stories are all the same-- their pictures are terrible. Pros: Absolutely nothing good can be said about this company Cons: Too many to mention more

This year my daughter is a Senior and Coleman's came prior to start of school to photograph the Seniors. My daughter had to work with them for the day helping with photos as requested from her school. She worked all day in hottest part of August. She was at least able to go home and shower and get ready before her appointment. She went back for her sitting and was one of the last to be done that day. They were trying to pack up their stuff to go home. She was rushed and her hair messed up. The angle that the pictures were made looked odd--making her hands, nose, and head look huge. In the outside shots, there were shadows and bright spots on her face and chest, power lines and heating units in the background, as well as the school billboard and cars in other shots. On the inside shots she had flies landing on her and the props. When the pictures came in, only got 1/2 of them. It took over one month and many, many calls to get the rest of the proofs sent. We were very dissappointed to say the least. We still have to have ""real"" pictures made and to make matters worse they did her cap and gown pictures as well. We just got those back--it was so sad. The pictures were so bad, they put her cap on her head and fixed it so that her ears were sticking out around the cap in between her hair. I just cried and there is no way in H*LL that I will take those and send out to my family--she is Valedictorian and now we have no cap and gown pictures for her announcements (and we do not have any formal picture for the newspaper Valedictorian profile). She also made the school's scholar corner at her school and gets her portrait hung in the school lobby, but we have no appropriate picture to use. It has been just a total disaster. At least her school is being gracious enough to get us what she needs to have new cap and gown pictures made at a ""real"" studio. If they come to your school for senior pics--RUN FAST THE OTHER WAY! We'll never buy from them again. Pros: There are absolutely none!! Cons: They do not take any time with the kids and don't care how horrible the pictures come out! more

Took the Sullivan East Lady Patriots team pictures in early 2008. Team pic is not centered and the individual pic is washed out. Had the player standing in an awkward position. Looks horrible and I have wasted my money. Hopefully, they won't be taking pictures of my middle school daughter's team. If so, I will know better than to purchase one. more

Coleman's took a terrible picture of my child so he scheduled a retake when he took his order sheet back to school. Pictures were printed from original and not from retake. Coleman's said tough luck. You got what you paid for. Said ""We'll waive the late fee if you want to place another order"". I would not reccomend them to anyone. Kathy was not apologetic and did not show any inclination to help with the situation. All they want is your money, they don't care about your satisfaction. I was a professional photographer myself for 15 years and am appalled that they wouldn't offer to do a reprint at a discount or try to make some other arrangement to help out. It probably cost them less than $5 to print all the pictures I paid $43 for and they were not willing to bend at all. I HOPE THEY LOSE THEIR CONTRACT WITH THE SCHOOLS THEY SUPPOSEDLY SERVICE! THEY DON""T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!!! Cons: DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER more
