This place is awesome. The ice cream flavors are pretty standard, with some special ones mixed in (Cotton Candy's big right now). The selection of toppings is immense, and there's a menu of tried-and-true topping mixtures that will send your head spinning! Chances are, it'll take forever to decide; once you do, it's so much fun to watch the magic happen: they use spatulas to mix your chosen toppings into the ice cream for a truly personalized flavor. It takes a few minutes longer than your average chain, and yes, it's more pricey. But it's worth it! The product is higher quality,and frankly, you don't need as much of it. Cold Stone Creamery has the best ice cream around. If you want to create your own ice cream and enjoy it then this is the place to go. Ever since I found out about this place I will never go back to Baskin Robbins or any other ice cream place every again. You will never find a taste like that anywhere else. I was once a doubter that others mushing my ice cream added any value to my dessert. I'm still skeptical, but did have a good first overall experience. My friend and I detailed *exactly* how we wanted our Sweet Cream Ice Cream, White Cake, Strawberry, Blackberry concoction made ... and were pleased with the result. I stumbled in at a Coldstone outlet in Sherman Oaks,CA not knowing what to expect. I like it!!! Just give urself a few minutes to pick ur ice cream and choices of topping to go w/ it. I am also glad that Coldstone has made it to the Bay Area! I try to stop in when ever I can. more

The true test of great ice cream is the vanilla. You can hide a poor ice cream with other fruit and chocolate flavors. But if the vanilla is good, chances are the other flavors are good. Cold Stone is the best. A true creamy rich tasting vanilla. Even with additives, the quality is superb. We go there every chance we get, even on cold days. My wife and I went to cold stone creamery after dinner last friday night. We were very impressed. It was our first time there and it was very busy, but with a line out the door the cold stone employee took the time to explain how it works. The ice cream was so delicious. And I love that I can pick what I want to mix in my Ice Cream. My wife had Chocolate Ice Cream with Peanut Butter and Oreo's mixed inside. And I had Vanilla Bean with a Brownie and Hot Fudge...Yum. Cold Stone is definetly the Best Ice Cream store ever. more
