Helpful to me and many of my friends 7/18/2010

I have been here to disperse a rather nice coin collection my grandfather put together. I read these reveiws and went in without the collection at first to check it out. I was impressed with thier knowledge and pleased with the friendly manner they spoke to me with the thousand questions I had. At this time the didn't even know I had coins. They passed my test and I went in the following week, suprisingly enough they remembered me by name, bought my collection, shocked me with it's value and now I don't hesitate to tell friends and co-workers to go thier if they need a coin dealer. I couldn't be happier, I think you will be to. Trust them it is worth it in my opinion! Pros: Clean, friendly and honest environment more

Thank you for your kindness 4/28/2010

My family had a HUGE coin collection. Nothing amazing but tons and tons of weight. Rolls of coins, bags of coins. So much that it took us 4 trips in two weeks to disperse it with Frank and Sandy. The were patient, helpful and generous. Go there, just stepping into the store is amazing there is so much there. You will get treated right and fairly. Guys, thank you,. I appreciate everything you folks did for us 2/28/2010

I had a coin collection appraised by Coins and Currency and had to run the appraisal by 3 sisters and a brother before we could sell it. Frank graciously appraised the collection without any idea that he may buy it. Infact we told him we probably wouldn't sell it, I assumed someone in the family would want it. His appraisal fee was small and values he gave were honest. After the insanity of settling this portion of the estate we decided to sell since that seemed the easisiet way to divide it among the 5 of us. ONE PROBLEM, this decision was made last Sunday and I was on a plane the next day. Frank and Sandy graciously opened the store for me and my sister so we could do the deal and I could catch my early morning flight the next day. Not many people would bend over backwards for anyone these days but it is clear to my family that the owners of this store have a deep and honest pride in their work. I don't live in the are to give any friends references so I felt the least I could do was let others know I would never hesitate to recommend them, thank you for everything you did. I'd like to thank Frank for taking his time to go over the MANY, many silver coins my boss brought into the shop to sell. At age 85 he had quite the collection. Frank was patient & thorough and my boss was VERY happy with the transaction. \r Frank had originally offered to take the trip out to his home to go through them, & save him the trouble of carrying all those bags, and I'm thankful for that gesture too. I'd recommend Coins & Currency to anyone who is looking for an easy, honest transaction. more

I GO HERE EVERY WEEK 2/12/2010

Really a wonderful experience with this shop everytime I go. I trust the owner and his staff to treat me fairly and give me good advise on building my collection. Their prices are very competitive and they pay quite well for coins because they sell them quite quickly. You can bring them anything from coins which should be melted to museum pieces and they have the knowledge and the integrity to handle your needs and pay you fairly. Pros: FRIENDLY AND HONEST more

Top Notch 2/12/2010

I don't know the first thing about coins, but got left with some old, old pennies. And a headache. I called Coins and Currency and got free advice without even promising to come in. I wanted to sort them myself, and see if I could guess what they'd be worth. Good thing I called first because I almost cleaned them, so I could read the dates, which apparently, would have ruined them. Frank's advice kept me from screwing up. It didn't take me too long of trying to look them up before I decided I bring them to the store instead. Frank is so freakin' knowledgeable that he was able to sort them quite quickly. There were a few good coins, and he explained why some were better than others. He didn't charge me for consulting. He didn't pressure me to sell him the coins. He was just sharing his knowledge. And he didn't make me feel stupid. I knew I was talking to a guy who loved what he was doing. And when I found out he was a history buff, his line of work made a lot of sense. The finest coin store in the area 2/11/2010

I would normally even bother writing an review, isn't my style BUT I went to the shop based on the reviews I read and will say that every thing I read was spot on. These guys take the time to teach you, and help so when your selling You feel good about what your doing. I have just completed selling my collection of 40 years, went in every Wednesday for 9 weeks and NEVER wondered if I was being treated fairly. I would suggest any one go there if they want top dollar and a good evironment. Pros: Clean, Friendly and Honest Cons: Noon time parking more

A nice pleasant experience...and profitable 1/10/2010

I went to see this company on the suggestion of a co-worker (Frank and Sandy) were working in the store at the time. From my first pleasant greeting to the writing of my nice check I was treated with respect and they were happy to answer ALL of my questions without hesitation. I was pleased with the service, felt they were trust worthy after a few questions and I was clearly coming back with my other coins after this trasaction took place. A very experience group of people 12/10/2009

I made one trip with my misc lot of coins and a grabbag of jewelry on the suggestion of a co-worker. I had read the other reviews, considered what my co-worker told me her experience was so I decided to give it a go. Honestly, I was more than impressed, everything from the honest discussion as to why the items I had were or were not of value. They didn't talk down to me and seemed to really enjoy dealing with me. It is clear they love thier work and treat the customers well because of it. I would not hesitate to send anyone to this shop. Pros: honest and helpful more

Quite the best coin shop in the Philadelphia area. Whether you are interested in bullion or seriously collecting rare coins - you will not be disappointed here. If you have gold or silver to sell, or old coins in general from anywhere in the world, this is the place to go. You will be treated fairly and paid more than other dealers. I was pleased beyond my expectations 10/21/2009

I had initially made phone contact with the store and Frank was super helpful on the phone which made my decision to go to him instead of some of the other places I called who made me feel like they didn't even want to speak to me. I had a modest sized collection only worth a few thousand dollars but wanted to get treated fairly. I was impress from the moment I went thru the doors of this store. A large clean evironment with smiles and hello's greeting my wife and I. We sat down, they explained the process, helped us understand why things are valued the way they are and by the time Sandy had written the check to us, there was never a doubt we did well and we were pleased and felt very comfortable about our transaction. I was very pleased to come here 9/30/2009

I went to a hotel buyer and two different coin dealers to sell my holdings. Obviously, these guys paid the most or I wouldn't be commenting. Difference is they were considerate, understanding and offered insight that no one else bother to share. Bottom Lline is I felt safe, secure and like I just couldn't have done better. Lesson learned....I would refer this shop over anyone, anytime without hesitation. Take my advice. If you just want to ""get it done"" this is the place! Service and Honesty made me a repeat customer 9/22/2009

I consolidated my Grandfather's coin collection through Coins & Currency of Wayne. I was hesitant to sell my collection as I thought I may be taken advantage of but Frank was professional and paid me a fair value for all my coins including 1000s of wheat pennies. I must admit, I did fall for the ""Hey, the other guy has a full page ad in the phone book he must be OK"". The full page ad guys were nice enough but after getting a second offer from this shop I relized who was going to be paying for the other guys full page ads, ME!! The offer I took was MORE than fair. It is obvious from the stores appearance and depth of inventory that they buy lots and lots of collections and many, people must seem feel the way I do about this wonderful store or they just simply would'nt have as much inventory as they do. I would do business again and again If I get the opportunity and have already send a neighbor to this store. Pros: Professional people and a relaxing atmosphere more

Worth a long trip 9/22/2008

Gold coins are high value items, and everyone has reservations about Ebay and the international Internet scam-o-rama. Sure, there are closer choices for a dealer (I live in Virginia). But after considering a large number of options closer to home (dealers are specialized), I called these people for a quote because they've been in business a long time and they are near a family member we were planning to visit anyway. \r \r They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The transaction was quick, professional, and painless. more
