Up until about 1999, Mr. Brown's Bar-B-Que had the best ribs in the entire Portland Metro area. His pork bones were so tender that often he would substitute beef ribs because the pork had often already pulled itself. This was the only place that could do both beef and pork ribs to perfection...not to mention links and brisket! The $20 slab of ribs would put two hungry men into barbecue ecstasy--the rib zone, as I call it. He had a sweet sauce, a hot sauce, and a lemon pepper sauce--all of which he sold in local supermarkets. The sides here were all serviceable, especially the sweet potato pie and peach cobbler. There was free internet access and coffee drinks galore. And the prices were so incredibly reasonable. Service was impeccable; the place was very clean and the white picnic tables set off the brilliant white space perfectly. Yam Yam's Barbecue is the closest thing that we have today, and the service and value do not begin to measure up. Mr. Brown was the Jedi Master of Barbecue, and we miss him terribly.
Pros: Food, value, service
Cons: No longer in business :-(
