The Coffee Hound Bookshop is the kind of place you would find in the German section of Columbus, Ohio, or perhaps in the quaint streets of downtown Charleston, SC. It has loads of new and used books for all ages, and the prices are pretty decent. Although not at thrift store level (they have to pay the rent somehow), the used books are always nearly new in quality, and the atmosphere is comfy and inviting. There are soft couches inside, and chess tables outside, where you can sit and watch the Republicans go in and out of their Franklin County Headquarters next door, or watch people streaming in and out of the Louisburg Theater on the other side. The coffee isn't the greatest in the world, running you a good buck-twenty five for a regular. But it's decent enough to enjoy while browsing their shelves, and the owners, Tommy & Millie, never yell at you because you read a book without buying it first. It's definitely a hotspot for people interested in poetry & literature, and arts in general for that matter. Nice environment, great people to be around. Not bad coffee. Recommended.
