I have been going to the CdA library forever. It has generally been able to meet my needs and is in a convenient location for me. There is plenty of parking and the staff are friendly and helpful. The building is just so depressing. It feels more like a prison than a library and there really just isn't enough room. If I want to check out a few books it is great. If I need to spend any amount of time actually in the library I would rather drive to the one in Hayden Lake. The building is so much nicer and the atmosphere more open and roomy. PROS: Plenty of parking, good selection of books CONS: more

I have always been pleased with the selection and amount of books available for check out here at the Coeur Dalene Public Library. They have a vast library of books and are almost certain to have something to fit your needs. They have a nice children's area in the basement and the kids always have a great time there, whether it be looking at books or playing in the tree house. The librarian is always super helpful. more

The older building is a drawback and so is the fact that the children's section is located in the basement. The staff does their best to overcome this less-than-ideal setup. They do have a climb-in tree house that the kids love and a good selection of books. They also offer chldren's reading programs. PROS: Staff is very helpful CONS: they need a new building more
