Got one of these Alpha winter jackets there last winter. Maybe it doesn't look super fancy (hey, it's a military jacket, what do you expect ;)), but it does what it supposed to. I...

Cockpit USA has high quality products of a vintage aviator lifestyle. The Cockpit T-shirts are made of an incredibly soft and comfortable material. I have purchased some special items including a Barnstormer Cap, Straw Hat with Leather Rim, and Mosley Tribe two tone sunglasses, which I very much enjoy using. The shop used to be on Bleecker but has now moved to an office building. This makes the brand feel more underground and limited, yet the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, and the showroom is well laid out. For those interested in apparel of a bygone time of aviation, and are prepared to go off the mainstream shops to seek something different, Cockpit USA's office at 15 West 39th Street, 12th Floor is certainly worth a visit. more

They have amazing and cool jackets. I bought a women's jacket and it is beyond awesome. The quality is very good. They also have lots of vintage pieces as well. I love this place! It's like a secret shop! I would definitely recommend to a friend to go. Happy shopping! :) more

Anyone considering a leather bomber jacket or any other type of aviator jacket must first consider The Cockpit. Not only do they make authentic leather jackets for our armed forces, but they are great people and their vintage leather products are the best. I met them at the The SHOT Show in Las Vegas 2 years ago, and fell in love with their G-1 leather bomber with the mouton collar. Unfortunately they did not have my size. Since I didn't have any trips to New York planned in the following year, I asked if they could bring one in my size to next year's SHOT Show. Without anything but a verbal request, they brought out a G-1 in my size and It was perfect. The Cockpit is the top shelf in my opinion for this kind of clothing, and they are great to do business with! more

Cockpit offers unrivaled quality in vintage military clothing, especially in leather jackets, which are indistinguishable from the originals issued mostly during WWII. Call ahead and make an appointment. You'll be glad you did: The friendly staff will make sure they have your sizes for you to try on when you come in. more

Plenty of cool stuff 12/28/2010

Got one of these Alpha winter jackets there last winter. Maybe it doesn't look super fancy (hey, it's a military jacket, what do you expect ;)), but it does what it supposed to. I'm never cold anymore... The store itself is worth checking out also. Their designer did a great job. more

Military galore!! 9/13/2010

Cockpit USA is fantastic as it has a unique experience from the moment you walk through the front doors! Airplanes hanging from the ceiling and in all different sizes and model will definitely grab your attention. The clothes are all military inspired and most men like that type of clothing. Their bread and butter must be the leather jackets with style of the G-1 and A-2 class fighters. Customer service is good and respectful and will not shy away from giving you a suggestion for what style fits you best. If you like the military, this is your store to go! more

One of a Kind 7/19/2010

Went to the store last year during a NYC visit. The personalized customer service is outstanding. The unique designs were spectacular. I received many compliments on what I bought from the store by people in my local area. Pros: unique designs more

Leather Destination 6/7/2010

A buddy of mine recomended this place since he knows my appreciation for aviation and military apparel. I came in specifically for the Kamamikaze t-shirt after checking out their website, but once in the store I left with an entire outfit. The t-shirt was even better in person than on the website. The customer service was amazing, unlike many other stores arround the neighborhood. I also found my favorite sneakers brand, PFflyers, after so many years, I left with a pair of Bob Cousy from the movie Sandlot as well as the 1970's style Glides. I was impressed with the outside brands they carried like the organic henlys from Alternative and the Australian brand Kakadu. I will return to Cockpit to purchace one of their authentic US Airforce A-2 jackets. Hopefully this time I will only leave with the one item but who knows their stuff it's great so I might be tempted for something else. Pros: American Made Leathers Cons: Could not stop shopping more

Great Find! 6/7/2010

I stumbled across this store last week walking down Broadway just North of Houston. It's easy to miss, but I'm very glad I stopped in to take a look. The store has one of the most interesting and creative visuals and merchandising i've seen in New York. They have an amazing contempory brand called CPT alongside old vintage military inspired leather jackets. I purchased a pair of their CPT Chambrey shorts for this season and they are one of the best pairs of shorts I own to date. The customer service was spot on and even the music was enjoyable. If you haven't checked out this store yet, I would highly recommend it! Pros: Clothing, Asthetic, Excellent Customer Service more

Best Leather in NYC 6/6/2010

The Cockpit store is by far one of the most unique boutiques in New York. The apparell has a classic military style, with authentic detail. This is the only place in new york that you can get a military style "D.I." shirt emblazoned with authentic military patches. The store is the official supplier of leather for the U.S. Airforce, so it is the only place in the world that you can purchase an official U.S. military bomber jacket. The leather is by far the most impressive aspect of the Cockpit brand, they have jackets with researched detail, my personal favorite was their "vietnam era" G-1, the jacket apparently was based on an authentic altered U.S. navy leather that actually served in the Gulf of Tonkin. The jacket features authentic squadron and ship patches, as well as a hand painted back featuring an image of the aircraft carrier on which the jacket served. There is also a full selection of women's leather, including an amazing jacket based upon the leather that Ameilia Earhart made famous. This is by far my favorite store, and it's only in New York!! Pros: classic military aesthetic, vintage inspired apparell, Cons: only store in manhattan more

Great Shop , must have seen if you are in NY 3/30/2010

We arrived from Germany only to buy the Movie Heroes Top Gun Jacket and it was great in the store, the quality of the jacket is very good and the people in the Store are very friendly. Great selection not only in Leather Jackets also the shirts are good. Pros: friendly and professional staff more

Excellent web site! 3/3/2010

Haven't had a chance to hit the store in NYC since I live in South Carolina, so I cruised the web site instead. Having been a proud owner of a US Navy "Top Gun" G-1 jacket since 1987, I like to keep up on the products this first-rate company makes. The web site is nothing short of stunning! Excellent pictures, outstanding grapics, very well organized! If the store is this good, maybe I should contemplate a trip up North.... Pros: Good layout, excellent pictures of merchandise Cons: A very minor spelling error, but hey...we're all human! more
