Shopping at the Co op is fun. It definitely has a "farmer" feel to it. They sell food for the local small farmers, horse, pig, chicken, etc. I like to buy cat food and dog food there. I think it's a good quality food and is definitely cheaper than the grocery store. They also sell wood pellets, propane, and the types of things a small farmer would need (fencing, troffs, grooming supplies). You can join the Co op for a one time fee and then you get a yearly dividend on your purchases. I usually get about $10 back. The first time you go you might feel a little strange walking in through the back past pallets of animal food but they're very informal. I like shopping at the Co Op.
