having lived in many great film towns, this is one of the best art film screens in the country. driven in great part by its enthusiastic and committed director (and I believe founder) john ewing, the selection concentrated into a single venue is consistently of high quality and what you expect for an art house theater. i track what's playing in the art houses of nyc, la, chicago, paris and berlin and usually find the best of what is running there will show up at the cleveland cinematheque. which does unfortunately mean that i have to catch films during the brief amount of time that is on at the cinematheque, but i always find it well worth planning my schedule around this venue
