I have to say that I was throughly impressed with Clemente Taxidermy. From the moment I called, they were very informative and helpful. They explained that while they could quote a basic price for my oryx mount, they would rather me come by for a visit before my hunt so that I could see the many different choices I would have for my mount. I scheduled a time that I could go by and Fernando and Kimberly spent over an hour showing me what I should look for in a mount, whether I would do business with them, or another company. I was extremely surprised at how clean and organized their business was-it was so refreshing. They showed me the type of tanning that is in each mount, the cleanliness of the horns, as well, how each piece has a competition nose ( I did not know until they told me, but mounts are not supposed to have noses that are plugged up, you should be able to look into a nose of a mount with a flashlight and think you are looking into the nose of living animal and see back into the nose about two inches). They explained that they paint each animal with extreme care with an airbrush. Another point I had never thought about is that each animal in their shop looked different-not a single deer, elk, or oryx looked like another one. When I mentioned this, they both pointed out that every animal is indeed different and only a taxidermist with experience and patience will achieve that goal. I was excited the day that I harvested my oryx, but I was even more excited the day Clemente Taxidermy called to say it was ready. It took only 5 months to get it back! When they told me that their turn around was 6-8 months, I did not put much faith in it-many taxidermists in the past have told me such-but they where even early. If anyone would like a great experience even after their hunt, I would recommend Clemente Taxidermy to ensure an awesome mount.
