Highly recommend the lambchops and the chicken tikka--we get one or sometimes 2 orders of each with every order (sometimes we don't want to share.) Our daughter loves the chicken pakkora, and the onion nan is also quite good. The delivery man is lovely. Love this place. more

Really, Really Good. Desert was pretty small amount for cost but everything else was awesome. more

Straight-forward, reliably good curries and tandoori. Only item I've not enjoyed was the cucumber salad - it seems to be a popular favorite among other customers but I found the vegetable slices to be 3x or 4x the size I'd feel comfortable eating with a salad fork, much less a pinch of Nan. more

Food quality and quantity was very good. Ordered two vegetarian thali plates, nan, papadom were very good. Rice was super -- had lots of spices in it and saffron too. Spinach and cheese dish was delicious as was dal. also liked side sauces: rita, mint sauce, and red chutney -- all very fresh and delicious. Only issue was that we ordered a diet coke and they forgot to deliver that. more

Very tasty. Lamb Korma is excellent, that sauce will do you for a couple of naans worth of dipping as well. The vegetable and onion pakoras are delicious. Chicken Korma was a little overcooked, but still good. more

Food was pretty good. The chicken tikka masala was a little too spicy, but I ordered the spiciest level they had, so it's not their fault. You never know which places are serious about their spiciness. This place is. Still good though. The garlic naan and the tandoori chicken were delicious. Be aware they don't give you any rice unless you order that separately. They did provide a green (cilantro) and brown (the sweet kind, whatever that is) chutney sauce, which was nice. more

The food is okay, nothing outstanding. There was an item missing from our order, but it was a small item--we ordered two types of naan and only received one. They still charged us for it, though! more

I've ordered from this place for a couple of years. All was good until I ordered in December, and asked them to make the dish "medium" spicy. Some nitwit decided that meant to water it down into a runny, translucent glop. Terribly disappointed, I wrote a scathing review, and ordered from their competitors until tonight. Tonight, I ordered my favorite dishes from Clay Oven, giving them a second chance. As I ordered, I wrote in the "notes" section "DO NOT WATER THIS DOWN". The food arrived on time, spicy, delicious. Now I know: they make spicy food. If you don't like your indian food spicy, don't order from this place because they don't know how to make it mild or medium without ruining it. more

Prepared the way I asked. Delivered on time and hot. The nan was a little brunt. Gave me plenty of leftovers. more

Worst service EVER 11/10/2005

The papadum was stale. We never received another basket, even after asking for one. We were missing a fork- I had to ask for it twice. We had to ask for our check twice. Our experience was ruined by one incompetent and rude waiter- we will never go back to that restaurant! Pros: tasty food Cons: awful service more

Incompetent staff and service overshadows food 10/2/2005

This is by far the worst experience I have had with a restaurant. I've ordered delivery from them several times and so far we are batting about 500 in terms of getting what we ordered. Tonight was the last straw. After waiting an hour and a half the driver arrived. Because I am so accustomed to the restaurant screwing up our order I made sure to double check that they got everything in. Low and behold they brought us someone elses food! To make matters worse they gave our order to someone else. So here we are two hours later and no food. When I called the restaurant to discuss the matter they seemed oblivious and even obstinate. Finally the person at the restuarant curtly told me they would cancel our order. Nice. I won't order from this restaurant again. Their incompetence is outshined only by their poor customer service. Cons: bad service, long delivery times more

Good North Indian Dining 2/21/2005

My partner & I dearly miss Houston's Indian restaurants (we have a huge Indo-Pakistani population). This place had the closest thing to a good, well-rounded thali. The quality of the food was excellent, well seasoned and, for California prices, a good deal. Pros: High qual. food, Nice ambience, Wide menu options more
