I was hoping for a romantic dinner with some piano music nearby- major disappointment. I made reservations for 7:30 on Saturday evening. We were in the side non-smoking room and there was recorded music from the next room, and it was all the same type of music - we heard ""Brick House"" twice within 20 or so minutes. The noise level from that and diners around us was unbearable in the small room we were in. We gave up trying to converse and hurriedly ate our meals because we couldn't wait to get out of there. We usually share a dessert while dining out, but left without it because we were getting headaches. Later we were trying to imagine how it would have been if the musician that was supposed to arrive to play on the stage in the room we were in had added to the noise mix. Already our ears were buzzing after we left.\r

I could see that it was going to be a regrettable experience, so I ordered the less expensive grilled chicken salad to limit the cost at least. It was just okay and was comparable to a salad from a diner with lots of iceberg lettuce. My boyfriend ordered Gulf fried shrimp and thought it was pretty good. He had wanted to order pasta, but the menu didn't have a description of the pasta dishes and it was too loud to try to have it explained to you. The waitress seemed indifferent and we felt rushed to order. \r

Basically, it was like trying to have a nice dining experience in a loud, dark, and smelly dive bar. It had been my selection after reading reviews, so I felt like I wanted to keep apologizing to my boyfriend. Even though we got ice cream somewhere else afterward and saw a pretty good movie, starting out with Claudio's ruined our date.
Pros: Near Kemah boardwalk
Cons: Too loud, dark, small, smells of smoke in nonsmoking section, not romantic
