Classy Seconds Thrift Shop

What a fun place to shop! I love to thrift shop and have hit all the thrift shops from G'ville to Reno. I think all the thrift shops are unique in there own special way. I'm not expecting the same experience as walking into a department store when shopping at these o' so cute little stores. I'm there to bargain hunt and find some fun items. Classy Seconds has been one of my favorite stores to shop in the 12 years since living in Carson Valley. I enjoy that they are open all weekend and that they have a special boutique that specializes in high end brand names. I find all my work clothes here and I love the new wooden floors in this area...it is bright and cheerful! I love the chit chat and busy feeling of this store. It is always fun to shop in a store that is full of energy and excitement. The Classy Second staff is usually cleaning, stocking or busy asking me if I need another basket for my overflowing basket in hand...lol:) Thank you Classy Seconds for all the great items I have purchased in the many years of shopping. Just as many other Thrift Stores in our community, the money going to this store goes right back into helping others improve their lives. Nice to know that my donations and my shopping money is helping people right here in Carson City....Yeah for Classy Seconds...you go girls:) Pros: Huge and fun place to shop more

I am a single mother, I never shoped at clasy seconds befor untill I got a tickt and it was offerd to me as a way to pay the fine I could not afford. i was gratefull to have a way to work off my ticket as money is verry tight at my house. i also became a advid shoper as i could find things i could afford cloths for my children and other things i need for my apartment. When i worked there i worked with alot of other people who were in my situation, not able to pay fines for minor offenses like trafic tickets. It was a frendly place and I actualy met the director of the place that the money gos to, i did not know untill i was talking to her that all the money goes to the shelter for battered wemon so that theye can buy things are needed... I could not belive she herself was working, sorting threw and hanging clothes to go out on the floor. I think most people who come to that store do have a positive thaught. you can not please all the people all the time and some people none of the time like the person who started this ""blog"" she has the only neg coments,lets pray for her that she will find some happieness in her or his life. life is much better when your not trying to take people down and insted bring people up. And she has not relized the good she has done because she has cause alot of positve buzz about this wonderful store Pros: verry helpful to people in the comnity more

Classy Seconds is a delightful thrift shop - it fills a need in the community - proceeds benefit Advocates to END Domestic Violence. The shop has expanded over the years to it's current size. Merchandise is rotated regularly and they rely on community donations. The pricing is competitive and often far less expensive than Salvation Army or Goodwill. Most customers shop ALL of Carson's thrift stores - including the sr. ctr and OARC, scouting out the best bargains. Classy has a generous sale program on clothing with bargain baskets every other Friday and 1/2 off on Sunday and Wednesdays. Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus and yes, Classy does participate in Carson City's Community Service program (those so-called ""felons."") Classy has a store credit return policy for electronics which is beneficial to shoppers. As to ""odor issues"", if pine-sol or fresh paint gets to you, vote with your feet as MY grandparent used to say. Funny how the irate rip on Classy but lo, no other establishments in Carson are rated?!? I come back to Classy for the bargains - books for my personal enjoyment or my children, household goods (almost all my Pampered Chef stoneware came from Classy), my knick-knacks (too numerous), winter faux furs, purses that coworkers envy (Stone Mountain, Eddie Bauer, Kate Spade, D&B), kid clothes with loads of miles left, sterling silver jewelry. Like another post, underwear and socks, I buy new. The money I save shopping Classy allows me more fun time with the family - that has to be worth more than stewing and spewing nasty reviews! This was the first Thrift Store I ever went to in 2003. I have been back often. I no longer pay retail for most clothes and yard/garden items..some electronics..you can't beat this place. OK, I still buy underwear and socks new but.. they always have sales..something is on special everyday. I would recommend it to anyone..and the staff is terrific..they remember my name every time I go in the place. Pros: Prices, Staff Cons: Location more

Classy Seconds has been serving the community for years. I have gotten everything from kitchen to clothing to furniture and it has all been great and unique items for a low price. It is also the cleanest and well displayed store around. The employees are helpful and curtious. and I will continue to support classy seconds and all they do for the community. Wow ""not1ioda"" You seriously need to maybe spend some ""avid"" time in an english spelling class. What a shame to be so illiterate. My 5th grader is available for tutoring you in grammar. I guess you could not afford to pay your fine being that you probably could not complete a job application with spelling and grammar such as yours. Pros: Nothing more
