Hastings' Finest 9/5/2002

The Rosewood Inn Bed and Breakfast is by far the finest my wife and I have visited. The innkeepers have meticulously and lovingly listened to their guests' suggestions and thought of every detail. Nearly every room is equipped with both a jacuzzi bath AND fireplace, and boasts a uniquely charming decor. Our room, the Solarium, had windows that stretched 20' and arched into the ceiling. Breakfast was fabulous, and can be served in your room at your request. We felt completely and romantically secluded, and slept wonderfully. The Inn is an easy walk from delightful downtown Hastings, where we enjoyed antique shopping and great dining. A little on the expensive side, but worth saving up for! Pros: Luxurious Rooms, Jacuzzi & Fireplace, Very Romantic Cons: Expensive more

  • The Scene
The fine river town of Hastings is proud of this 1880 treasure. The inn is listed on the town's local historic registry, as well as on the National Register of Historic Sites. It is just 25 miles from the Twin Cities and yet resides in a pretty, natural setting. Although Hastings is best known for its location on the Mississippi, it is also notably framed by bluffs that create a cliff for a spectacular waterfall.

    The Details
The innkeepers and staff strive to make your stay memorable. Indulgences include cozy reading retreats, evening snacks and a crackling fireplace. The private baths have oversized showers, old-fashioned claw-foot tubs or double Pearl whirlpools--some even have all three, and all boast fluffy towels the size of sheets. Air conditioning is a bonus during hot Midwest summers. Breakfast is generous and hearty.
