Clancy's Sports Bar

Been coming here for years. Its turned into somewhat of a shrine for me - not without reason; reasonably priced drinks, great selection of beers on tap. pool tables, darts, new jukebox (wired in to database) TVs throughout... you get the picture. Pros: Cozy joint, Freindly Staff Cons: (scratches head...?) ...none more

I was there at Clancy's on Friday October 19, 2007. It seemed like a pretty good place until the owner and his ex-wife started to argue. I was not really her starting it, it was him. This went on for atleast 30 to 45 mins. Eventually the police were called. During the course of this incident, many, many patrons left the bar. Would you blame them? Who wants to go to a bar to see people fight? I have heard rumors that the owner does get out of hand quite frequently and is very loud while doing so. Usually this type of behavior doesn't not work well for the longevity of any business. Some fresh paint, carpeting wouldn't hurt. The majority of the staff is friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced. I would avoid this bar on Friday evenings as to that is when most of the incidents with the owner take place. Saturday is good because it is free pool all day long! Pros: Drink prices. Cons: The owner's fits & fights. more

AWESOME PLACE TO HANG OUT!! I THOUGHT MY REGULAR BAR WAS GREAT... UNTIL I CAME TO CLANCY'S... NO DOUBT THAT YOU CAN DROWN IN THOSE BEER MUGS... GREAT DEALS... FREE POOL ALL DAY ON SATURDAYS!! LOTS OF DART BOARDS... GREAT PLACE AND LARGE ALL AROUND... GREAT PEOPLE... FRIENDLY BARTENDERS... MY #1 MAN IS JEFF!! HE WOULD EVEN LEAVE HIS BAR TO COME SERVICE US WAY AT THE END OF THE PUB AT THE LAST POOL TABLE... BIG SCREEN... ALL FOOTBALL GAMES SHOW AT THE SAME TIME!! JUST AWESOME ALL AROUND... WHAT CAN I SAY BUT THAT I HAVE A NEW BAR!!! YOU CAN STILL SMOKE HERE AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF TABLES AND STOOLS ALL AROUND! JUKEBOX HAS A HUGE SELECTION AND ALL CURRENT MUSIC... The first time i went to this bar i was a little skeptical. My friends had told me that it was a cool place to hang out, but from the outside, it looks like it should be a law office or something. The first time I went was on a regular saturday and the crowd was a little dead and more thug then I would have expected considering its an Irish bar. Then I went for the 2nd time on St. Patricks Day and saw how different the crowd was. It was also a Saturday but i guess because its an ""irish"" bar it was more packed for the occasion. That night the crowd was way more diverse and way more people were in there. Overall its cool if you want to have relatively cheap drinks that are pretty damn huge! Another side note: you CAN smoke in the bar. I dont know how they get away with this, but if you're a smoker like me, it'll keep you coming back! more

Perfect for a beer friends. I've only been there once, but that's all it took for me to totally dig this place. It's a bit tucked away, but worth finding. The beers are massive and cheap ($4 for one so big I could have drowned in it), and the bartender was very cute. Was full of youngish people, not old nasty barflies but not the idiotic college crowd either. Awesome jukebox. Where else would you hear Face to Face and the Butthole Surfers in 2007? Nowhere, that's where. I plan on returning very soon. \r \r Also, it's within walking distance to a 24 hour Alberto's- and who doesn't like greasy tacos after too many beers? Decent beer selction, this place is huge inside and rarely gets too packed. Prices are pretty good and there's plenty of room for those who want to play pool and darts. People usually wnat to play you here. Pros: Good place if everything is packed Cons: Horrible parking, usally none more

I hadn't been to Clancy's Irish Pub since I had rotator cuff surgery 3 yrs ago. It was a real surprise when I went in today! They used to cater to dart players, and at one time had 14 steel tip boards. They now have 6 ""soft tip"" machines and three steel tip boards. There are tables and chairs between the steel tip boards, so you won't be able to shoot if it's crowded. The electronic dart boards are literally shoulder to shoulder. I used to really like Clancy's for shooting steel tip darts, but I'm afraid it's much too clostraphobic for me now. --- I'll go back to Character's in Pomona (about 20 min's away) and play darts --- more room, and five well spaced boards. But it's ok for the neighborhood bar. My boyfriend and I enjoy playing $.50 pool and listening to the great jukebox. They also have dart/pool tournaments. Drinks are resonable. Most drafts are $3. The age/ethincity of place is a good mix. Waitress are very down to earth and attentive. Pros: cheap pool Cons: small lot more
