The Citywalk is a really cool place to go if you just want to hang out, look at different stores, shop, eat, drink and meet interesting people. I like coming here to people watch or hang out with friends. I am glad we have a place like this close to home. It is a tourist attraction but it makes it even more interesting. more

Great Shopping Experience 5/13/2009

love this place, there's so much to do and see here, and its always a good time. there are quite a few tourists but its the whole attaction to this place! there's a good selection of places to eat and places to entertain you! can't go wrong with a trip to city walk. more

Worst experience ever 7/14/2008

My husband my friends and I went there to have a good time we waited in line for 20 mins. or so then when we got to the front a big black security guard didn't let my husband in because supposedly baggy Dockers pants. His pants were no baggier that any one else in that place. It was so embarrassing!!! I will never go back there again or recommended to anyone else I know!!! more

Place is awesome, cost to park is not 6/12/2008

OK, so this definitely an L.A. tourist trap, and if you don?t come with a car full of people, parking is atrocious at around $10 per car. However, all the flashing billboards and larger-than-life architecture make Citywalk feel like a little slice of Vegas in Valley, just without the gambling. Tapas bar Tu Tu Tango and Southwestern rodeo restaurant Saddle Ranch are my favorite places to dine. I love looking at the quirky objects inside the socks and magnet stores. Citywalk is a great place to bring out-of-towners for some entertainment or for Angelenos who are not too embarrassed to mix in with the tourists. more

Claustrophic and cheesy 11/24/2007

As an outdoor mall, this one misses the mark. As a tourist destination too. Whether you're going for a movie, to shop, or to dine, it just seems like its a mess. The alley is too narrow, leading to crowdedness even when the crowd isn't that large. Tourist mix with area teens. And they charge for parking at ridiculous prices. All the stores pretty much sell stupid stuff. And the restaurants don't really even try. If you're from out of town, I'd suggest you skip the trap and go straight for one of the Los Angeles restaurant rows or upscale shopping centers. Visitors who have experienced Orlando's version of the same beware, this one is nothing like the open airy and thriving east coast namesake. Lots of Shop Eye Candy 11/17/2007

City Walk has improved over the years. There were issues regarding gangs that hung out there that seem to have been resolved with an increased security presence. They have nice places to spend your time and money like BB Kings, the Rhumba Room, Howl at the Moon piano bar, and the newly remodeled AMC movie theaters. The major issue is that it costs $10 to park in order to go to Citywalk so I'd recommend carpooling here and make sure you are going to do something or else you're just paying $10 to see tourists, drunk clubbers, and neon lights. Pros: They have sit down and fast food dining options along with a movie theater Cons: $10 parking more

It's a mall with cool neon 10/31/2007

One of the first things you'll notice about CityWalk are the great signs. Most of them are in the style of the traditional neon, but some are also authentic. There are tons of shops to browse in, but for me...CityWalk is more of an eating destination. I say eating as opposed to ""dining"" because you can get a great sausage sandwich or pizza as well as sushi, filet mignon and king crab legs. After seeing the great success of the CityWalk, Disney followed suit and built Downtown Disney in Anaheim. CityWalk has some great restaurants, but they've had a few flops, too. There was the comic book-themed restaurant...the name of which I don't remember, the seafood restaurant Gladstone's, and several others that we enjoyed in the past. The only drawback about the CityWalk...well, I think there are two, really...the parking fee is a little outrageous and the numbers of people who throng the place can be suffocating, to say the least. The parking fee keeps us from going there more often...and the human horde makes CityWalk an ""occasion-only"" experience these days. more

great way to end your day at universal studios 8/6/2007

There are so many shops, restaurants, etc., you can literally get lost in this place. There is a movie theater, which is pretty big, but it seems like it charges more than other AMCs out there and the service there seems to be about the same. I think during the summers they have free movie screenings outside, which sounds like a bunch of fun. There's also some type of live music playing all the time. Overall, it is a very energetic and fun place to spend your evening. Pros: A lot to do (eat) Cons: can get very busy and expensive more

City Walk is a pretty decent attraction if you do it right. I always hear people complaining about the parking, crowd, etc., but it's Los Angeles, so what do you expect? When it comes to parking, it's a total pain to pay $10 but those who can read know you can get your money back if you go to the movies. Just take your ticket (in it's entirety because it's void if you rip off the bottom part) to the box office and they'll give you your money (or use it towards the theatre admission). However, if you don't plan on going to the theatre, just park in the FREE Metro parking and take the FREE shuttle that drops you off right in front. The only problem with this is that the shuttles only operate until a certain hour (varies) and if you stay after the last one leaves, you'll have to walk back. But it's an easy downhill walk. Pros: Parking rebate, cool attractions Cons: Crowds, high theatre prices more

great sights 5/7/2007

It?s a great tourist attraction with its flashy lights and its large screen tv?s. There are some pretty decent dining places like Buca di Beppo, Cafe Tu Tu Tango as well as numerous shops to just browse through with Hollywood souvenirs and trinkets. Also, the theater also has IMAX screenings, which is great for viewing the big blockbuster films. Overall, it?s a fun and entertaining place to walk around whether its with a group of friends, a date, or with your cousin from a foreign country. more

Great Variety 7/10/2006

If you're from out of town (or have never been to Universal Studios/Universal City Walk) it's definitely worth a visit. Universal Studios meets up with Universal City Walk so if you really can spend your entire day in one place and be exposed to a ton of entertainment. Universal City Walk has a huge movie theatre, which includes an IMAX theatre, a bowling alley, numerous restaurants and shops. They also have performers on the Walk. There's fun for everyone. It is a little pricey but, if you can take the expense, it's a cool place to go. You have to try it at least once. Pros: Variety, fun for everyone, lots to do and see Cons: pricey more

Take The Subway 9/17/2004

The Subway is only $1.50 with a free shuttle from across the street from the Universal station to City Walk. The only problem is that you need to leave around midnight, depending upon any light rail connections you need to get back to your base. The park is basically for tourists and bored teens. Locals don't frequent the park except as tour guides for out-of-town visitors. There are some deals available, such as a movie, dinner and parking package, that save a few bucks, but the place is way over-priced. Pros: good service, clean, variety Cons: , loud, crowded more

City Walk is free, but the parking can be a bit high depending on the day of the week and time of day you go. I been there about 10 times and have not found any parking validation. Also food seems to be a bit high as well, but hey your in LA. more

What a Great Place To Be 12/17/2003

There aren't many places like Citywalk. You pay for parking. Period. Browse the stores, watch the crowd, catch a street performance. All free. Want to eat or watch a movie? Well, then you're going to have to open your wallet. But really, you decide what you want to spend. This place is fun if you want to be around a lot of people but still be free to roam or people-watch. I go a couple of times a year...
