The City of Ten Thousand Buddhas is a world renown Buddhist university and retreat center located right outside of Ukiah. They provide top notch elementary, secondary and university education with boys and girls separate. They conduct retreats, and have many cultural and religious festivals which are open to the public. Their nuns come to lecture on mediation Yoga Mendocino every month. They also boast an amazing vegan Chinese restaurant which is a MUST on any visit to Ukiah. Their 5th grade boys raised $1000 for the Red Cross Haiti earthquake relief by selling paper origami lanterns they had folded.
