City Mill has improved its overall customer service and product line. I still go there to get my home construction and improvement supplies because they carry a lot of different items so we can customize our project the way we want to. I'd recommend going to City Mill for your home improvement needs, you'll be surprise with all that they have to offer. more

Your Good Local Hardware Store 10/6/2005

I used to go to City Mill and buy misc tools and material to fixed up my apartment. The service was not great but I heard they have changed their reputation. City Mill has a lot to offer - hardware, paint supplies, curtains, shelves, even gardening. The prices are much cheaper than other big chain stores. Everytime I go to City Mill, I always get ideas on how to make things. The guys there, if you can get a hold of them, are very knowledgeable and can help you with your project. I'd recommend you going to City Mill first before Lowes or Sears. more

Much Improved! 8/21/2005

Ever since the big box retailers like Home Depot and Loews came to town, City Mill has had to reinvent itself. Today, they are customer focused, providing Excellent service and flexibility. Before the big box guys, City Mill wouldn’t give you any help, now City Mill provides excellent service and it seems that the big box guys are too crowded to give you any assistance. more

home improvement 8/20/2005

One of the few local home and hardware business in Hawaii. It’s basically a one stop shop for everything you need to do in your home including plumbing, electrical work, cabinets, and wood working. I bought a few desks and draws from them which were on sale and fairly cheap. They even duplicate spare keys. more

Great local home improvement store 8/17/2005

City Mills been in Hawaii a lot longer than the Big Box guys and their employees seem a lot more helpful. I needed a stove hood vent and couldn't find it at any of the Big Boxes, but City Mill had it. They also had the ducts I needed to vent it to the outside of the house. Great selection and helpful employee's, I even had them make the screens for my house! more

Interesting selection of items 8/10/2005

You can sometimes find a good deal at City Mill and items that you won't find in other places. Many times when I can't find something at the bigger chain stores, I will swing by City Mill and they will have what I need. I think they have great service too. The people are friendly and seem to have more time to dedicate to helping you purchase the proper item for your home. At Christmas, they have a nice selection of items for your home and also for gifts. Also, if you are looking for good prices on rolling file cabinets or bean bags, check here. They even have the refills to restuff your bean bag. more

Good place to get all you Hawaii Household needs 7/29/2005

When you live in Hawaii and you have an old local style home, then you know that many of the odd & ends that break are a little unusual. When you go to Home Depot, or other national chain, then they will be sold out because everyone needs that jealousy crank arm of that size. City Mill carries the common needs for local houses. try them next time. more
