This is a dental office that shines! Upon my first visit (and every visit after), I was greeted and treated like a valued customer. Brandy, the hygienist, came out with a lovely smile of reassurance and walked me back to the exam area. She was wonderful! Unfortunately, I have what I think is one of the smallest mouths in the world, but she was gentle and careful in her exam and in taking x-rays. Everything was explained as we went and all questions were answered. When Dr. Calcagno came in, she offered me the best greeting I have received in ages and treated me as if I was a family member that she needed to take extra care with. She asked for my opinions and took them into consideration before giving me a full evaluation. I would highly recommend City Dental to anyone looking for a fabulous dental experience! My husband and I are truly grateful for finding this place and look forward knowing that this is a dentist that is highly experienced and is versed in picking out distinguished staff members that will support her and her clients to the nth degree! more

I first came to Dr. Calcagno with years of orthodontic trauma and a mouth full of teeth that had not been cleaned in seven years. I was so terrified of going to the dentist that I would not be able to sleep before my appointment, and would dread going in. Barb and Audrey offer a warm welcome when you walk in. This is really a happy place! Employees have been here for many years. Dr. Calcagno has had the same congenial staff since I began visiting five years, maybe longer. You know she treats her employees very well..a very good sign. That goes double for her patients. Ann the Hygienist has always cleaned my teeth, and she is very thorough! Over the years I have had many different procedures done. The latest have been cosmetic. Dr. Calcagno perfectly fitted veneers which have resulted in many compliments and requests of where to get them. I know Dr. Calcagno has done cosmetic work for many people in the public eye such as TV, actors, and radio people. All care about their appearance and know she is the best in Portland to go to. I have been having my teeth cared for by Dr Calcagno for more than 25 years. During those years, the staff may have changed and the instrumentation upgraded as the technology evolved, but the excellent work done on my teeth, bears witness to the excellent service that is provided at City Dental. Emergencies that have come up over the years have been handled in a timely manner and the routine cleanings and followup teeth checks by the Dr. are professional and friendly. I was so anxious to find a cosmetic dentist that really knew what they were doing. One of my front teeth was chipped when I was a teenager. I had it fixed a couple of times, but you could always tell the difference between the two teeth. When I first came to see Dr. Calcagno, I was a little nervous. I have just had some bad experiences. It took some work but when she was done with my tooth, for the first time since I chipped it, I could smile with confidence. She did an amazing job. She took the time to really match the color and translucence to my other tooth. She is truly talented at what she does. Thank you so much for bringing my smile back. more

I was searching for a dentist for nearly three hours this past Monday. I was getting desperate because my insurance doesn't kick in for another two weeks but I've been in such horrible pain. Something about City Dental caught my attention - I felt drawn to them here on City Search. So I gave them a call and got my appointment set up, which was this morning. I was there about 10 minutes early. The minute I walked in, I heard laughter. The atmosphere was quite welcoming and cozy. I normally get very nervous in waiting rooms in hospitals, clinics and especially dental offices. I've had a lot of bad luck in the past with my previous dentists. Ann, who took my ex-rays, was an absolute joy... she took such good care of me after I informed her of my gag reflexes being very sensitive. Dr. Calcagno was down to earth, very honest and gentle. Barb and Audry (administrative staff) was pleasant and helpful - very cheery disposition. I felt so comfortable and right at home. They not only created an atmosphere that was warm and welcoming - I also felt that they were genuine and sincere. We need more people like them in this day and age! I have truly found a winner! more
