I just took my bike in for the one-month tune-up after buying it here -- both experiences were fairly good.

City Bikes is the best place to meet your needs 4/6/2011

Unless you're going to go outside the city to a major sporting goods store, City Bikes is the best place to meet your needs. The store isn't any bigger than the other tiny shops that line the streets of Adams Morgan, but fortunately bike parts are very small so they can stock a lot of goods in there. The staff themselves are all bike enthusiasts and a friendly lot. They can be a little rough at times -- last winter one of their customers came barreling out of the store on his bike and rammed me into a pile of snow, but all was good after that. I've had to replace the brakes on my bike several times since I've been riding in the city and they've taken care of me each time. more

I love the staff at this sporting goods store. My bike is my life, and the staff at City Bikes keeps me up to date with everything that is new in the industry. If you need a part this the store to visit. If you are looking for consultation on how to perform the best trick these are the people you need to work with. I highly recommend this store in Adams Morgan. more

but the added value of location & competence is worth it 4/1/2011

I recently relocated to DC & my bike needed some serious work, to the point I almost bought a new one. I took it to City Bikes where they replaced a few parts, cleaned up some others and made my 10 year old MTB feel like new. They are a bit pricey, but the added value of location & competence is worth it. more

Lovely store. The staff is very knowledgable and very friendly. I felt really comfortable asking as many questions as I wanted and was very pleased with the selection that they had. I only went in for a light but after the pleasent experience I had I will go back for other accessories. It's near Eastern Market metro, a couple blocks down. more

best bike shop in DC 1/14/2006

This great bike shop in Adams Morgan is my favorite biking store in Washington DC. If you are a professional or a novice this is the best place because of the amazing selection and knowledge of their employees. This store doesn’t only sell bikes, if you are need any accessories they are fully loaded. more

Good bike selection and knowledgeable staff 8/21/2005

City Bikes in Adams Morgan is a cornerstone of the biking community in Washington DC. It's where I came to get my first bike (which was quickly stolen so buy a strong lock!). The staff guides you through the different bike options for your needs and makes sure you buy a helmet :) You can try the bikes out before you buy. If you want a bike, you should come to City Bikes. more

Convenient, Perhaps A Bit Expensive 8/15/2005

If you're looking for a bike shop in DC, you don't have too many choices. Fortunately, however, there is CIty Bikes in Adams Morgan. It might be a bit expensive, but the convenience makes it worth it. Located at Columbia Rd and Champlain (just north of the Columbia & 18th intersection), the bike store has everything you need, and service that's usually pretty helpful. They've also got decent store merchandise for those interested. more
