We have banked with Citizens for years since it bought out Charter One- we have had several ""issues"" pop up through the years due to being former Charter One customers - the bank always treats us like second class customers due to the fact that we have the old ""dinosaur"" Charter One accounts. I recently went into this bank with a problem - based on receiving a letter that said ""call or go into your local branch"" and the sales person (and assistant manager) both refused to even look into my account to try and determine what went wrong - they were very hostile and said it was very busy and there was a number on the paper for me to call and I should call it. What they did tell me about the account turned out to be wrong - it's like they were just saying things to get me to leave because I had a problem that needed solving and was not opening an account that they could make commission off of. Keep in mind that I was in near tears while I was there because this problem popped up without warning on our account. So after the brush off I took my toddler to the car, cried at not only the lack of help but the downright rudeness, and later began working through the problem with the customer service by phone. I will never hesitate to share my horrible experience(s) (since the horrible treatment there I went to another branch to close out my accounts - they did so nicely but did it wrong and we are now in the process of getting those issues resolved as we are being charged overdraft penalties because they double-debited the account and apparently their system keeps adding MORE fees the second they supposedly get it all credited back to us... oh my gosh it has been a nightmare... I would not recommend this bank and especially this branch to my worst enemy, let alone someone seeking a responsive bank that respects their customers and tries to help them. Good riddance, Citizens.
Pros: Ridiculous hours everyday of the week
Cons: Untrained, rude staff and haughty ""management""
