We went to Circuit City in Tulsa to purchase a CD player for my son's car. He needed a CD that played his burnt CDs, something his factory installed CD player in his car wouldn't do.
There was quite a price range and the person who helped us was quite knowledgeable and friendly and helped us decide on which CD player we wanted. He explained that any CD player over $100 included free installation.
We chose a CD player that cost $120 and took it up to the counter to pay for it. The counter person rang us up and said the cost was $170 (before taxes) including installation. We explained that we were told the CD was $120 and the installation was free. He informed us that was correct, but the parts to install it was $50.
Ok, but why didn't they tell us that beforehand? Why didn't they have it posted next to the price and the advertisement that said "free installation for CD players over $100". The overall experience at Circuit City was good, but this experience left me feeling a little bitter.
