Welcome to our Circle! It is our belief that every person should be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of disability. We believe that all people are born with certain gifts and talents that should be developed and shared! Our goal is to empower and equip young adults who are intellectually and/or developmentally disabled (IDD) with tools necessary to achieve a more independent life and when possible attain their life's goal. We are able to assist these IDD individuals in reaching these milestones through our Proclaiming Our Potential (P.O.P.) Day Program. Each participant is mentored and provided practical lessons that build vital social, life, and vocational skills which allows them to reach a place of independence. Participants are encouraged to positively engage in our community. Our P.O.P. participants consist of men and women with varying degrees of disabilities, from various backgrounds, and who represent a variety of races and cultures. We provide a positive environment for these individuals without discrimination or predetermination of ability. Our program provides the ability for our participants to connect with their peers, voice concerns and opinions, participate in their community, explore different cultures, participate in therapeutic arts, fine arts, culinary arts, and train for employment through practical application using relevant lessons. Participants have the opportunity for practical application of job skills through participation in various simulated business models provided through our program.
