My daughter loves riding horses and now has become not only skilled at riding, but has a great deal of respect for horses and the work it takes to care for them. She has been riding now for just over a year. The instructors here are experienced, dedicated, and very knowledgeable. We love Jessica and Sam who have been amazing instructors and are extremely patient with all the kids who ride. Layne, the owner, is also wonderful and runs a very organized ranch. more

My granddaughter has been riding at Circle Lake for several years. She has learned from Layne Spitzenberger and her staff not only how to ride, but also how to take care of her horse. I appreciate so much the care and attention the Circle Ranch staff has given to my granddaughter. I started the process with her knowing absolutely nothing about horses and over the years, I have probably asked a thousand questions. And never have I been made to feell like my questions were silly or that I was bothering the staff by asking. I am so glad my granddaughter found Circle Lake Ranch!! more

Having grown up around a horse stable with my sister as a youth, she suggested I find a similar place for our daughter once we moved to Katy. This lifestyle builds character in children and teaches them teamwork with their horses and other kids, and how to listen and follow directions. My daughter started as a student at this facility at age of 6 years, and she went from a "baby beginner" to an "extreme advanced" rider winning classes in various shows to a reserve championship & a major youth championship title. We couldn't say enough about the professional instruction, guidance, and support we received over the years from the owner/director and staff. Without them, none of what she has accomplished would have been possible. My daughter is well-prepared for showing in English and Western events - both of which she enjoys. The training she has received over the years is solid and she is a safety-prepared individual to enjoy equine activities into her adulthood. (This became evident to us as she grew and competed successfully in the raising and showing of multiple species of livestock in the majors---so much of her success is directly due to the discipline she gained from CLR from the tender age of 6 which set the foundation for her "drive for success" and ability to apply herself to the hard work it takes to get there.) The facilities at CLR are continually updated and maintained with a covered arena for inclement weather and a larger one. I encourage everyone I know who is truly interested in building theirs or their child's riding skills to meet with Dr. Spitzenberger and join a class to match their level of experience and schedule. Monthly lesson fees are reasonable and fair and the value of life skills is beyond this minimal investment in your child, as I have experienced. more

Circle Lake Ranch has been a wonderful experience for my daughter. She has been taking western style riding lessons there since she was 11 (she's now 17) and has developed a skill in horsemanship and equine care through Layne's vigilant tutelage. In addition this experience has produced character development in her that I see to be a lifelong benefit, namely confidence, responsibility, and safety awareness. Layne has introduced her to a world that is culturally Texas and has inspired in my daughter a passion for the sport . As she progressed in skill, Layne provided opportunities for competition at local, regional and national levels. Additional training in specific skilled areas has also been a plus. Layne encouraged my daughter to progress at her own rate, emphasizing areas of development and competition that interested my daughter. Our summer camps were delightful experiences allowing her to spend an entire week being exposed to more areas of horses and horsemanship than is possible in a once-a-week lesson. Camp was a week filled with horses, friends, fun and learning. Layne is, foremost, safety minded which is comforting to me. She can relate well to her students, and her staff are highly competent. I would recommend Circle Lake Ranch to anyone wanting to train in riding, adult or child. Our experience has been rewarding, positive, and educational. more

This is a wonderful place to take horse riding lessons. They teach both western and english. They teach you everything there is to know about horses and riding. Also teach you about horse safety and caring & grooming your horses. The instructors are patient and are very safety conscious. They offer overnight camp sessions with other kids that have the same passion for horses. I highly recommend this place if you want to learn to ride a horse. more
