stay away 2/7/2010

I wanted my curled for a wedding I was in (not an updo, just curled). I called to check the price and the woman at the front desk told me it would be $30. She also told me the salon didn't open till 10am but she would get me in at 10. Turns out the salon opened at nine and my stylist tried to charge me $80. I almost threw up when I heard this. My curls where terrible looking and completely came out within two hours so I ended up completely redoing my hair myself.....i should have just done that in the first place. Horrible, Horrible service 8/17/2009

I was a walk in client, new to the area, and Rachel helped me with a haircut. WOW, I have never seen anyone with so much anger in her, you can tell she is just not a happy person......in resault she took it out on my hair! I look like a peekock! I do not recommend her, she has a horrible attitude and it seems like she has no idea what she is doing,,,seems like you have to catch her on a rare good mood day. Meredith has been my hair stylist @ Circa 92 for 4 years now. My color is so natural no one knows that it's not my real color--it's so great that people think I'm 15 years younger than I am! Lela and her staff are wonderful! Everyone is friendly and make you feel like a part of their family. We've celebrated births and birthdays and was part of their filiming on Split Ends, the reality show. The salon is decorated in a minimalist mode - open ceilings, ac pipes and great art. Each month a new artist is featured. If you don't feel the stylist is making a connection with you, all you have to do is mention it and they'll direct you to somenone else in the salon - no egos here to worry about. BEST CUT AND COLOR IN OC TO DATE! 8/4/2008

I have been to a couple different salons in OC that are all way overpriced and way over-weighted. I was gonig to one particular one in Newport Beach off of Bristol street for a couple years and it was not that they were particulary bad at what they did, they never did what I asked and always hurried me out the door. Great for curly hair, great experience! 7/9/2008

I am new to the area and was searching for a salon that could ""handle"" my curls. I went to my previous stylist for 6 years so I was really hesitant to find a new salon. I am particular about my cut and I get my hair relaxed, which requires someone who knows both. I ended up with the owner, Lela, and could not be happier with my cut and the relaxer. She really listened to me and you could tell she was very experienced with relaxers. It all came out great and the price was fair. Pros: Offers relaxers for curly hair more

This isn't a review, just some thoughts I'd like to share... 6/19/2008

Ok, so this isn't a review, but I just wanted to say that the reviews for this salon look very suspicious. I learned this lesson the hard way with Salon Papillon (on PCH). There were tons of glowing reviews for Jilla, the owner, she jacked up my color very badly (I asked for very cool toned ashy blonde, I got dark orange that looks like the color of a penny), and then I realize that she and her friends must have written all the reviews. I am now very weary of salons that seem to have a strong internet presence (notice all the responses from the owners). Also, all the positive reviews seem waaaaay too over the top and none of them list ANY cons. No matter how great the salon, there is always at least one con. more

Perfect Vibe at this Salon 6/12/2008

I LOVE it here! I used to live across the street, but moved back to Los Angeles a while ago. I know some good stylists in L.A. and I still come back to Lela at Circa92. The care and attention to detail for each cut and color is greatly appreciated. I am always happy when I leave. The atmosphere is relaxing and low key - and the rotating art on the walls are super cool. Pros: Great care, attention to detail, amazing art more

Best cut n color 4/2/2008

I've avoided getting hair cuts for years now. I'm a young guy that like's a modern cut but I've got really difficult hair to deal with. Most salons I'd been to in the past didnt know what to do with my hair, I had to basically talk them through every slice of their scissors and it would come out terrible. Then I met Latisha who works at circa, and let her do my hair. I have to admit I was nervous at first given my experiences in the past, but after my color and cut I had a hair style that i thought I could never have. Now I get my hair done every month and I feel confident leaving my ball cap at home : ) Great people, great environment, and friendly service... I am completely happy and satisfied with my haircut. My stylist Latisha was very experienced and knew exactly how to transform my thick, short, and difficult to manage short hair into light, manageable hair. I love it and have had so many compliments. Circa has experts and know what they are doing. The cut is worth the price. Pros: Ambience, cleanliness, swiftness. more

Very disappointed...no skill 12/27/2007

I went to Circa92 to get my hair cut, all I wanted done to my hair was simple layers (my hair was already layered, but was getting too long). The girl who did my hair either did not know how to do layers or was totally unexperienced. After she layered my hair, she curled the ends, so I wasn't able to see the results. It wasn't until after I got home and washed out my hair that I see that my cut is very choppy, my layers were not blended well. Basically I paid $65 for a haircut that I could have gotten for $15 at Fantastic Sams. I expected a much better job for that amount of money. Very disappointed. more

Best Blonde Hair Colorist/Stylist 11/3/2007

I originally found this salon while doing a search for good colorists for true blondes (hard to find!) after gettting a bleached botch job at another place. After reading reviews that recommended Megan, I've been having her color my hair for two years & always get compliments on my beautiful, natural looking color everywhere I go. After several months of work, she had it completely color corrected. . She always takes the time to listen, make thorough and thoughtful color adjustments, and is a perfectionist with amazing results! She is now also cutting my hair and recently did the partial updo for my wedding day...again beautiful! I cannot recommend her highly enough! There prices have recently gone up to help them get medical benefits, but its worth it, and they deserve to have that peace of mind. more

There's something inviting & comfortable about Circa 92 that keeps me coming back. Of course it also has to do with outstanding quality . . . I've been seeing Megan for a couple of years now - a record for me. I'm always wanting to ""tweak"" something and am impressed with her ability to read my mind & translate what I'm describing into that mysterious ""hairspeak"" that stylists use. You couldn't find anyone better to help you translate your new vision into reality. more

I was looking for a salon and saw the great rating number for this place... however, it looks like each and every hairdresser wrote their own review to build this place up... either that or they presented each and every client with a pre-written blurb and asked them to submit it. i am new to town and needed to find a salon that was trust worthy.. i found circa 92 on city search and set an appt..my appt was with chris and after speaking with him i felt immediate trust.he was able to give me the perfect blonde that i like along with an amazing haircut..i highly recommend circa 92 and chris Pros: everyone is very professional, salon is very clean and organized more

After searching through many, many salons in Orange County I came across Circa 92 and Jason Schreiber. The salon is amazing and the staff amazing. Jason Schreiber is up on the latest styles and can recommend the best cuts. After coming from a bad experience with another salon Jason was able to fix me up and has been consistent ever since. great haircut, great color, friendly atmosphere 9/12/2006

I typically dread going to a salon due to the fact that I have very frizzy, unruly hair and I dont know what to ask for and most stylists are not very inspired by it. Michelle really brought out the best in my hair. The cut really tamed my locks and she picked out the perfect color for my hair and personality. I look really cool now!! Im really glad I came to her. She knows her stuff. I definitely recommend Michelle. more

Great Service and skilled Stylists 8/29/2006

I have been going to see Megan for over a year now and she is the best! Her attention to detail is great and you can actually close your eyes and enjoy the experience. I have long thick hair and she is amazing with color as well as cutting and styling. The atmosphere at the salon is fun and everyone is very friendly. I highly recommend this salon and Megan!! more

90 miles away, but worth the drive! 3/4/2006

After 2 years of letting my hair grow, I wanted just the right person to cut it. I decided on Lela at Circa 92 Salon and was so happy! Lela listened to what I wanted and is experienced enough to know what would work on my hair type. I had a hair cut and dual process color; the base color and highights were stunning and lasted longer than any other I've had, the cut was very easy to style at home & made my hair look great! The salon is attractive & comfortable, and the staff are professional yet very friendly. Great cuts, great color, great people, great salon!!!! A+ more

i have had a hard time finding someone who listens to my needs until now! I found this Salon on this website and i am so HAPPY. My hair looks better than ever thanks to Mona and Megan. If you want great hair go to these girls!! Mona for cuts Megan for color. I highly recommend Circa 92 and highly recommend Mona and Megan. Pros: great staff, good parking more
