High Quality without the frills 9/17/2008

When we first approached the restaurant, my first thought was, ""Oh no! Take out."" I then realized they offered table service. The decor is basic. The music is wonderful, Frank Sinatra and the like. The food is wonderful. So many flavors meld together perfectly. DO NOT ORDER AN APETIZER AND AN ENTREE! TOO MUCH FOOD! The portions are gargantuan, but not like Claim Jumper. Paper napkins in this place, but it keeps costs down. Service is unobtrusive, which makes for a great dining experiance. If I want Italian in the South Bay, I will look no further than Cialuzzi's. They are very difficult to find. They are on the west side of PCH in a pad site, that is a building in the parking lot. Beer and Wine only. Pros: Quality quality quality portions portions portions Cons: small more

Cialuzzi's is no more!! NOW ITS CHARLIES!! which is AMAZING!! we had been to Cialuzzis before and loved it, so when it reopened as Charlies we went back. we started off with the Bruschetta, so good! fluffy bread and fresh tomatoes and basil! yummmm!! then we got the stuff shells w/ meat sauce and meat lasagna which were both spectacular! the mozzarella cheese melted down the dish was the best part! and lastly we shared the HOMEMADE MOST AMAZING DELICIOUS TO DIE FOR TIRAMISU! its official we are addicted! oh and they also had a really great Pinot Noir :) all that plus a beer and dinner was like $60, not bad at all for an awesome and delicious date dinner! service was eh... they were packed and it seemed like there was only 1 or 2 waitresses, so we didnt get much attention, but the food made up for that! more

Whoa! NYC real Italian IS in the South Bay! 5/11/2007

I have visited Cialuzzi's more than a few times when visiting the South Bay. I live in NYC and this joint is the real deal Italian! The owner, Charlie, treats you like he's known you for years and has superb thin-crust pizza that you can only get in NYC's BEST pizzerias! His entrees, especillay his daily specials, and Nana bread rock too! You feel like you're with friends when at Cialuzzi's, but the place is great for a date too. Be sure not to miss out on a great, relaxing experience. Oh, and Charlie has also catered the sets of Friends, Ally McBeal and Everybody Loves Raymond! Pros: intimate, friendly atmosphere, nice wine selection, excellent food more

no frills...no need to go anywhere else 1/19/2005

This is the most underrated italian food in the south bay based on the ratings currently on this site. These folks from Manhattan, NY have hands down the best marinara you can get in Southern California. This is the only place to get a traditional calzone, or a perfectly proportioned pizza. They use the highest quality ingredients including Polly-O cheese. If terrific food at a reasonable price is your desire, look no further. A true south bay gem!! Our favorite dish is the eggplant parmesan, but if they have it the eggplant lasagna should not be missed. more
