Double-Charged My Credit Card 10/20/2009

We went here for dinner one night in August. The meal was good, but they double charged my credit card for the tab. I called the restaurant 5 different times, and spoke to the manager, Harold, several times. They insured me that my credit card would be refunded for the extra charge. It's now mid-October, and they still have my money. This service really leaves a lot to be desired. more

Tres Leches are amazing! 9/3/2009

SWANK 11/6/2008

Loved it! I took my ""girlfriend"" to Churascos a couple nights before I had to begin serving my prison sentence. This place must have been the fanciest place I've ever eaten. They actually had a wine list, the server wore a pressed cotton shirt, and the beef was real! My server used phrases like ""sir"" and ""will you be paying with American Express."" He had no clue that intended to use my FEMA debit card. I hope he enjoyed the tip...I left a couple extra food stamps. The only problem I had was that my girlfriend ""b-tch slapped me on my way through the entrance. Other than that, everything was perfect. more

Great Surprise 10/5/2008

From the outside it didnt look all that nice. We walked up, thinking we were overdressed. But we walked in and were instantly amazed by the decor. Complimentary valet was a big plus. It's gorgeous and definitly one of my new favorite restaurants. \r The service was awesome and very attentive. The food came out fast and everything we ordered was great. It surprised me because the guy I was with absolutly cleaned his plate and he's a very picky eater. The plantanes on the tables were some of the best I've had. Also, when they brought out our food, we had no idea that you get a big plate of side dishes to share. Things like grilled plantanes and potatoes were super yummy.\r I've been to another restaurant owned by that company - Cordua, and this was even better than the last one. It was different and very nice for special occasions. Since we're both teenagers, price was a concern but it ended up being fine. For both of use to eat (plantanes, steak, chicken and a dessert) was less than $50. \r All in all, it was a great restaurant for special occasions or just for a night on the town. Pros: Ambience, Service Cons: A bit noisy more

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! 8/19/2008

OKay from the outside this place looks like a Chilis or TGI Fridays so my husband and I go in Jeans and tennis..ummm wrong! Yet they let us dine there looking crazy while the rest of the patrons where dress as if it were Valentine's....anyways the service was great! and those plantain chips oh wait our table didnt get any not sure why after all the other tables had some( only thing I didnt like) anyways the drinks and wine are great! we order, a little pricey but food and service are well worth it...we shared a plate the PARILLADA and our server was nice enough to split it for us! the sides OMG the yucca and gallo pinto to die for! i was very impress with the quality of food....I will be going back for more! Pros: food, wine list, service Cons: no plantain chips, ambience a little stiff more

Always delicious and excellent service 5/15/2008

Mom and I enjoyed a wonderful late Mother's Day lunch at Churrascos. I selected the beef medallions - exquisite! Service and food has always been top notch. Great special occasion restaurant Pros: Great food and service - mmmm plantains and meat Cons: on the expensive side but well worth it more

Best Churrasco in TX 4/20/2008

I just went to that restaurant this afternoon and the service and the food was amazing. A little bit expensive ($70 for 2) but is worthy.\r \r more

Nice place 12/9/2007

This is a nice place the decor is upscale but, I liked it better when it was a family run place! It is priced alittle high for what you get but, nice place. more

Great tea, good vegetables, good decor 4/19/2007

I've eaten here once and it was with a very large group. The chimichurri sauce and banana chips are good. Their tea is very good. I had a char-grilled seafood plate. They brought out plates of char-grilled vegetables for the group to share. Everything was very good, though by the end of the meal I was tired of the char-grill taste on everything. I noticed that the menu prices were very expensive (about $30 a plate) which is why I haven't been back. The ladies room is very nice and original--it is a circular room where you are surrounded by stalls that are actually private bathrooms--each stall is its own room with a toilet and sink. Pros: tea, vegetables Cons: pricey, too much char-grill more

Best Latin Food 10/24/2006

My favorite restaurant in Houston. Nice atmosphere, with great wait staff, and food is always wonderful. Must try their signature steak, the Churrasco, you will not be disappointed. Tres Leches is a must also. Pros: Great Steak Cons: Little Pricey more

Best Sunday Brunch Buffet in town 5/1/2006

I have been a fan of Churrascos for years and this time they have outdone themselves with the Sunday brunch buffet. Lots of variety with the classics with a Latin flair in a state of the art presentation. Pros: Quality, Great value, Variety more

Great food 2/23/2006

This is one of the places I will always bring out of town guests to impress them with Houston cuisine. The food is ALWAYS great, no matter what I have ordered. I have encountered occasional lapses in service, but brought to the attention of the management, they make it right. The cost is a little high, but worth every penny. One of my favorite restaurants in Houston. Pros: Food, Atmosphere more

inattentive 8/22/2004

If you are looking for attentive service, don't go to Churrascos. We were seated and waiting for the rest of our party to arrive and waited maybe 20 minutes before we finally asked for menus. Our servers took forever to take our order and we saw several others being waited on and receiving food that had arrived later than us. The food was mediocre. All in all, just average. more

Not Worth the Money 6/12/2004

I used to like Churrascos, it was a wonderful place to take clients, however it changed. Last few visits were very disappointing food was overcooked and salty. The staff was not helpful and dismissed my comments that I was not happy with my lunch. My client was very disappointed as well, so was my friend who took his wife for a dinner to celebrate anniversary. One of their entres arrived overcooked the second not cooked through and too salty. None of us will go back. There are better places for less money with better service. Pros: Nice atmosphere Cons: , Food too salty, Not cooked properly more

incredible 1/15/2004

I have been to Churrasco's seven times and each time was better than the last. I liked how they changed the menu up for Valentine's Day and the fried plantanes are excellent. The atmosphere is perfect and i would deffinetly rate them a 10+ more

You Can't Go Wrong 9/4/2003

One of Houston's best!! I think I've tried everything on the menu, and haven't found anything less that superior. The pork tenderloin with crab meat is definately the best thing on the menu. Watch out for the appetizers, they are pricy and unecessary with the entree portions. House salad is great. Good value wines from S.Am. Pros: Food, Service Cons: Reservations a must, Pricy Appetizers, $2.00 Ice Tea more

Superb 8/20/2003

My wife and I dined here on a Saturday night. The architecture is excellent giving you a real unique atmosphere. The plantain chips are a great starter. The beef is absolutely to die for. I could have eaten another 10 oz. My wife had some excellent talapia. Too bad we had to run and did not try the tres leches. more

One of the Best! 3/4/2003

This place is absolutely awesome. I recommend driving to the one off Westheimer and the Belt; I wasn't very pleased with the Shepherd location. Try the empanaditas and the pollo encamisado. Oh, and you have to get the Pio X for dessert! Pros: cheaper Lunch menu, ambiance, romantic Cons: expensive more

Increible dinning!! 11/5/2002
