After moving to the area, we were immediately welcomed at Acsension, without question or reservation, and the congregation has become like an extended family to us. The rector is young and has a young family. His sermons have a humble ethic that apply to all ages, and apply to my life every time. This is a place of building relationships, both spiritual and in the community, and I can't say enough about the desire of the congregation to welcome outsiders. I now have friends who aren't even Episcopals attending with me regularly just to hear the sermons and hang out with everyone during "coffee and lemonade hour." The experience is just that moving. The early morning service is more formal, and all of the younger families attend the 10:15 a.m. service - but the breakfast is worth giving up a lazy Sunday morning in bed. All in all, this is the best religious experience I have ever had, and I am a tough sell on things like this.
