Avoid this place at all costs! New ownership has much to work on before earning your business. I bought 4 Dunlop tires two years ago from the previous owner Travis. The tires were warrantied for 60,000 miles. I came in for a rotation after about 8,000 miles and was concerned over the tires already showing much wear. I had an alignment done when I bought the tires too. Travis said I needed to come in every 5,000 miles and we should be fine, so I follow his advice. I go in for a regular rotation on the tires last Friday and Melissa is the person in front now and Travis has apparently sold his company recently to another person. She tells me that I have zero tread and they cannot legally rotate my tires. This concerns me as I have a pregnant wife and she drives this car every day. Melissa is bristley at best and seems to me to be an odd choice to have dealing with customers. She was more concerned about selling me more tires than doing the right thing. I ask what they are going to do since I only got 22,000 miles on 60,000 mile warranty tires. First she claims they have no record of my tire rotations, nor the required 2 alignments a year. I tell her I have the paperwork in my car 20 feet away for the rotations and I never heard of this alignment requirement! She backs off that issue and then tells me they can submit my tires to Dunlop and 'IF' I am to get any money back it will be in 4-8 weeks. I ask if they have used tires I can use in the meantime. She says no and I have to buy new tires. I tell her the only way I am buying from them again is if they give me a good deal because I feel ripped off and have no confidence I am getting money back from Dunlop. She tells me the quote she already worked up had $10 a tire off deal built in. The tires they had for me were $140 each plus they said I needed inner tie rods plus cost of alignment (which was free last time). So a $1,000 job basically and their best deal for a repeat customer, whose tires barely lasted 1/3 of the warranty, and all they offer me is $40 off?? Crazy. I left. I went to Discount Tire a few days later, after reading the positive Yelp reviews, and not only did I get the same tires for $95 each, but they actually gave me a $148 credit for my warranty on the Dunlop's I bought at Chucks! Warrantying a competitors tires?? Wow. Bottom line is Discount Tire earned me as a customer and Chucks is forever in my rear view mirror. Just because the name has been around forever doesn't mean its the same quality owners and that is the lesson I learned from this experience. Buyer beware. more

Took truck in for tires - Brakes needed fixing real bad - Travis made me a deal I couldn't resist and my truck is good as new. It is nice to go to a place that cares and wants your return business. From now on - CHUCKS TIRES - for me. more

We have been a customer of Chuck's (now owned by Travis) for over 6 years. Most recently, I needed to replace the tires on my 2006 Acura TSX. Travis recommended Hankook tires, and they were installed and an alignment was completed at the same time. These are the BEST TIRES! They are smooth and quiet. My husband noticed the difference right away. I am so happy with that purchase and their service. more

First of all, Chuck no longer owns this shop; Travis does. I have used Chuck's for years for tires etc...and always felt very good about recommending them until now. I dropped my van off as I believed I needed a new battery. Travis called and told me my battery was fine but I needed a new alternator and tires (even though my tires had 60% tred left on them he said they were cracking with age). A thousand dollars later, I go to pick up the van with new alternator and tires and he tells me my battery is marginal and will need replacing soon. When I asked why he told me the battery was fine, he said he bought a new tester for the battery the day before. I felt he should have called me to tell me this but he waited until I picked the van up. I can't help but feel I was uploaded to purchase the tires and altenator and I will NEVER go back to this shop!!\r \r more

I called to see if they had the tires I wanted. They said they didn't, and offered to look for equivalent replacements or find my tires for me.\r \r They called back 10 minutes later and told me they'd have my exact tires by 2:00pm. I brought my car in at 2:30 and was out by 3:15.\r \r I watched them do the work, and they were very careful with my expensive wheels. About a month ago the squeak of my brakes began. I put off fixing them because:\r A. I didn't really have the extra money \r B. I didn't know of a place I could trust\r \r I googled to find a brake and tire place near my office in Carlsbad. Chucks Tire came up so I gave them a visit. They gave me a quick payment quote and let me know they would be willing to drive me to and from work. The next day I arrived in the morning parked my car and they gave me a ride to the office. A while later I received a call with the estimate, it was more than I could afford, I called some other places only to get quotes that were the same or higher. I called on a Friday morning to see if I could get in and out quickly. Needed a rotaion, balance and nail removed. They got me out in 15 minutes at no charge. This is what I call service. I say... Buy your tires at Chuck's and they will take great care of you all around including all future needs involving your tires. Pros: Clean and very friendly Cons: No cons to report more

Products are expensive. Service was fast due to no crowds. But the employees were unfriendly and one was even threatening. Owner was even grumpy. Cons: unfriendly service more

Horrible technical and customer service. Lazy, incompetent service. Grumpy owner. Chuck's could not align and balance my tires last time I came in. I took the car back to them, but still had the problem. I took the car to my local dealership, and the car drives great now. Also, a friend I recommended to Chuck's says that they intentionally misaligned his wheels because he found and purchased his tires from elsewhere for less. AVOID this place!!
