If you don't want to get your car back take it here. Our 2004 Volvo V70 (Creampuff) broke down and we towed to CB roanoke. We were leaving for a trip and I made the location aware we'd be out of the country for a couple weeks. I received an email with repairs in excess of $7,000. At that point we decided our best option would be to donate the vehicle and get my company to match the donation. I setup pickup with Can Academy Dallas while out of town and was able to get a family member to put title and extra keys (even the removable refrigerator for the car). The car never made it there and neither did any of the donation money. When the charity came to pick the vehicle up they denied them access. It seems that they found the title and decided to take the car directly for themselves and got it salvaged for metal. There was a $100 balance on the vehicle for the "Inspection" to determine the transmission was shot. I had an open line of communication through email with them while I was on vacation... They never once brought this up. Thanks to Christian Brothers, more particularly, the owner of this current franchise location - The Dallas Can Academy is out over $5,000. This is a true story and we will be fighting it hard to get this money to the charity. It's truly amazing that business practices like this are still taking place in the world.
