DO NOT GO HERE! I took my car there because my car was overheating and needed to get it to the closest and most reasonable place I could. So, of course the name catches my eye because I am thinking, great, they are christian people and would never try to take advantage of me even though I am a female and have no idea what is wrong with the car. So, I have to leave it there and I let them know what all was going on with it and that my service engine light stays on so it was not on because of this problem. I told them to call me before they did any work on it because I needed to know what it was going to cost me to fix it. I get a phone call about 30 minutes after I leave and they inform me that it is my water pump, thermostat and EGR valve and that it was going to cost $820 to fix it. I told them that I was not worried about the EGR valve that kept my service engine light on and asked how much it would cost to just replace the water pump and thermostat and they quoted me a price close to $500. I told them I would have to discuss it with my parents and I would get back to them. That night I got on the internet and through doing a little research of my own, found the new parts to my car for less than $60 total for both parts. So, that means that they were trying to charge me close to $400 for labor. Also, through my research I found out that it would only take an hour max to do the work! So, I called them and told them that I could not afford what they were charging and would come get the car the next day. I went there to pick it up and go in to get the keys and they proceed to tell me that I have to pay close to $50. So, I pay it and afterward, they tell me that one of my problems was that my radiator did not have a cap on it. I was almost sure that it was because right before I came there, I went to the tire center at Walmart that was right beside them and the mechanic there popped my hood and felt of the cap and realized it was too hot to remove and told me to take it straight to Christian Brothers since it was right beside there. So, I ran back to Walmart when he told me that and right before I stepped out of the car to find that mechanic that had helped me I remembered that I had opened the hood after I had arrived at Christian Brothers the first time and felt of the radiator cap to see if was still too hot to remove and it was. So, I did confirm my rememberance of what that mechanic did at Walmart and he also agreed that it was on there. I go back to Christian Brothers and go in and tell them that I was a 100% sure that it was on there and they basically called me a liar and told me they did not have my radiator cap. I just walked out because I did not want to say something ugly! I head out to my car to check the water level before we start to try to head home in it and lo and behold, there was the radiator cap sealed tightly on the radiator. So I went back in and told them that the radiator cap was on the radiator and they just said, well that is good news! That was it, nothing else, like we are sorry we do not know our butt's from a hole in the ground, NOTHING! Later, I looked at my receipt and realized that the charge was for them hooking it up to the diagnostic computer to see why the check engine light was on. I told them it had been on since I bought the car a year ago and it was not due to this problem! So, now I have to deal with them once more to get a refund hopefully and it will be the last time I deal with them. If you are smart, you won't let them touch your vehicle!
