Christ Episcopal Church is conveniently located on Grand Avenue in Waukegan, IL. Whether you are a newcomer to northeastern Lake County or simply looking for a new church home, we at Christ Church extend a cordial invitation to you to join us in worship and fellowship. Our parish is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago (Episcopal Church, USA) that encompasses the northern third of Illinois. We have made our home in Waukegan since 1846 and our present church building, completed in 1887, is listed in the National Registry of Historical Buildings.
As Episcopalians at Christ Church we strive to live our lives with Christ as the center of all we do and where people are transformed into His likeness. We are a church that is culturally relevant, diverse yet unified, and works with others in our greater community to promote wholeness.
With beliefs founded in Scripture, Tradition, and Reason, we seek to promote thoughtful debate about what God is calling us to be as true believers and followers of Christ. We are a sacramental and worship-oriented church in which the focus of our common life together is the Altar. There we celebrate the Eucharist (Holy Communion) twice on Sundays, Wednesday evenings (with a Rite of Healing), and on Holy Days. All persons who have been baptized by water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, regardless of church affiliations or traditions, are invited to join us at the Lord?s Table.
We welcome you to come visit us soon!
